There is a adapter/caddy available to use a 2280 format SSD as a SATA drive. The caddy itself can handle 4 of those SSD drives. I removed 2 HDD RAID 1 (mirroring) arrays and replaced with this SSD drive. Works great. I was apprehensive at first, but no problem.

Speed is great, heat and weight way down, no spinning mechanical drive to worry about bumping with a head crash! Good all around.

This being a SATA (vs NVME) SSD is targeted more for a storage HDD rather than boot drive. Fantastic price bought during year-end promotion. Getting about 160MB as reported by Windows 10 File Explorer when copying a directory of 1TB from HDD, connected by putting it in a Oricco M2. SATA to USB 3.0 box. Something to note, at first I used a very durable Baseus braided cable which was normally used for charging. It worked but realised later the very slow speed I was getting was due to the cable. Switch to the very short cable which came with the Oricco box and it flies. Not all cables are the same – I learned something about the Baseus cable that I liked so much.

Used with the m.2 ssd tooless kit for gaming on PS4. works how it should so far! i got the 2 tb version, which should be just enough for the ps4 pro to look good again and run better than i found it in the default state. i upgraded around a few weeks ago, and when i put this all together, i got the cheap ps4 kit to open my ps4 pro and also the cleaning kit for PC’s and the like. once i turned it on, it was insanely fast! i didn’t have ps âž• but i don’t think that was such a problem honestly. i play every game i download, and i have been sotting on 100s of titles for years now building out my libraries both on ps video and games. i am still bored at times of my games but at least I can watch the 100 with a super fast ssd, you’ll know the difference just by doing everyday things on it. Thank you WD. This is just my opinion, nothing more or less.

Do some research and check your laptop or pc model before purchasing. Make sure you have the right cut slot M or B or both. Also keywords to check is MSATA or NGFF for this particular drive. Installation is not easy on my old HP laptop and I had to do a search to figure out how to get the BIOS to see it. I was able to find enough source material about how it can be done and there are even youtube videos to help thankfully. Nice storage capacity 2TB instead of my old one 256G. I’ve purchased from GoHardDrive before, they are a great seller and have great products at more than reasonable prices.

Not a lot more to say, really. I put this in my Acer laptop’s secondary SATA M.2 slot, got an extra 1.8TB after it was formatted and it works fine so far and the speed is 300+ MB/second.

I did notice that it can move slightly if I push on it after being installed, but it hasn’t caused any problem and that might be due to the laptop’s screw being oversized rather than the board being undersized.

I couldn’t clone my old HDD using the acronis true image software due to an error (even though I ran chkdsk and nothing came up). Even tried Macrium (with the setting to ignore bad sectors enabled) to no avail. I ended up using another free software – EaseUS Todo Backup – which had a “sector by sector” option for cloning, and that worked and copied my old hard drive perfectly. Since I was copying from a smaller 1TB HDD to a bigger 2TB SSD, I used another free software, MiniTool Partition Wizard, to expand my old partition to take up the remaining space in my SSD.

Another note: I stupidly installed this without realizing that the mounting screw was not preinstalled on my motherboard. A lot of the videos on YouTube neglected to mention that. Check if yours is already installed on the motherboard, if not, check the box if the screws came separately. I only realized after a week of installing it wrongly that I needed the mounting screw first lol, but so far my SSD is still fine.

I just got an excellent deal on a 3rd generation Lenovo X1 Carbon laptop. This is my third Lenovo PC and my second Lenovo laptop. It has a QHD touch screen, 8 GBs RAM, weighs only 2.5 lbs and I got it for $99.00! The Core i5 CPU is faster than the i7 in my Lenovo x230! The only downside was it had a 256 GB M.2 SSD, so I ordered Western Digital’s 2TB WD Blue 3D NAND Internal PC SSD – SATA III 6 GB/s, M.2 2280 and exchanged the two drives. Macrium Reflect cloned my Windows 10 install and apps over to the new drive very quickly, and it’s working perfectly in my new X1! Plenty of room now to add in anything I want. As for the M.2 SSD I took out, it’s installed now in a $20 USB A/C external drive “shell”, so I have some external storage almost for free. The price and specs on this WD M.2 SSD compared to current pricing on Samsung’s storage options made this buy a no-brainer, and you give up nothing in return. It’s right up there in speed, while it saves you a bundle!

The Western Digital 2TB WD Blue 3D NAND Internal PC SSD has truly transformed my computing experience. With its lightning-fast speed and ample storage capacity, it’s been a game-changer for my system.

From the moment I installed it, I noticed a significant improvement in the overall performance of my PC. The SATA III 6 Gb/s interface ensures that data transfer is seamless and efficient, while the M.2 2280 form factor keeps things compact and tidy inside my computer.

What really stands out is the blazing read speed of up to 560 MB/s, which means that loading times for applications and files have become virtually non-existent. Whether I’m working on complex projects or enjoying my favorite games, this SSD handles it all with ease.

I can’t stress enough how much I love this product. It has not only boosted my productivity but also enhanced my gaming experience. The 2TB storage capacity is a blessing, allowing me to store a vast library of files without worrying about running out of space.

If you’re in the market for an SSD, I highly recommend the Western Digital 2TB WD Blue 3D NAND Internal PC SSD. It’s reliable, fast, and has made a world of difference in how I use my computer. Don’t miss out on this fantastic upgrade!

I finally received the SSD from FedEx and I was able to install it in less than 4 minutes. Replacing my hard drive with this and I know it will be just right after checking my motherboard’s support list and shows it as compatible before I bought it 🙂 Thank you
