I wish I could recommend this set of 2 xylophones that I ordered for my toddle granddaughter. They are described as a musical toy for kids and, unfortunately, there is little that is musical about them. Several of the bars are so far off of the note they should be that you cannot play a near accurate scale. Many of the bars do not “ring” but only sound like a “thud”. If you want your young ones to enjoy music, and perhaps be motivated to learn more, this is not the place to start. There are inexpensive xylophones out there that kids will actually want to play and will feel good about the sound they produce, regardless of their music developmental level. I am giving 2 stars because the xylophones look pretty with their clear bright colors, and the wood base is finished smoothly.

The sound is fun but amateur. The colors are attractive because it’s a toy for kids. It also feels like The quality is not more important than the quantity necessarily. It is an easy to use instrument and the size is very small. And it’s a little awkward to hold it’s a very minimalistic approach out of a child’s toy xylophone.

Man, I had no idea what a hit these would be but they eclipsed every other toy my nephew was playing with, he could not put those sticks down! Keep an eye on toddlers playing with it as the pointy narrow end of the drum sticks could easily poke out an eye accidentally especially with kids banging away wildly at it. Could also be a choking hazard as well. Chintsy construction super simple toy.

The media could not be loaded.

They look cute and colorful, but don’t be drawn in! They sound horrible and have no identifiable pitch, certainly not a scale! I know they are for children, but that is no excuse. Children need musical instruments that sound good and have scales and pitch. No one wants something that just makes racket in their home. Their use of the term “educational” would only teach children to hate music. I don’t thing that’s what they were aiming for. It is not suitable for any age person.

Can you play “Doe a Deer” on it? Yes. Does it sound a little off? Also yes. Does it keep intensive needs autistic students who love making noise happy and occupied? Yes! I can also attest to the quality of the build — these have been thrown and banged on desks and they are no worse for wear.
