For the price, this Yamaha pedal is well built and a steal. Easily detaches for storage and transport and it’s lightweight and very sturdy. After a year of playing, I had to lube the point where the footboard bracket connects to the beater tower but that was just me being picky. While I was at it, I lightly oiled the main pivot bearings, spring bushing and chain, just for grins. I will add, maybe not as easy to adjust the tension spring as my Pearl Eliminator but, it’s a 70 buck pedal – once you set the tension, forget about it.

One additional observation, as to another comment I read, never did experience the beater “flying off” or anything loosen-up for that matter. Man-up, snug down the screws as you would any other pedal and you’re good to go.

No drum key is included, but everything else is great. It has a very light feel (even lighter with the included strap drive), The pedal itself appears very robust, and more robust than many other pedals in the same price range. It will stand up to regular gigging, and it comes with a very nice carrying case.

Totally solid pedal. I am a beginner and not yet can tell the difference from this solid starter foot pedal and the high end ones which can be quite pricey. I have installed this on my Yamaha Birch set, and have no complaints at all. The action is very smooth, it feels very comfortable and it is fully adjustable. So if you are getting started this should definitely fit the bill. Rock (or blues) on!

I’ve been at this for many years. This the best feeling strap drive pedal i have ever used! I am SO GLAD to have found it. It is extremely well built; not over-designed. Efficient, and quiet! The pedalboard feels great. They put a lot of thought into this model!

Eine Gummirutschsicherung unten am Pedal fehlt, auch der Geräusche wegen,
    Standard bei anderen Herstellern!
Sonst wäre sie ganz gut für den Preis 😉

I already had one of these but wanted another to match my double bass so I knew what I was getting. These are the best pedals I’ve used at this price point. You can get a little better feel from pedals twice the price but for me it’s not enough of a difference.

Excelente pedal!

    Pros
    -Sturdy construction
-Straightforward, no frills design. If apple made drum hardware, this would be the IPedal. The Jojo M. Perfect balance pedal would be the iPedal max 💪🏻
-Smooth footboard. It’s shorter than footboards of other pedals in the range
-Solid hinge. No play at all!
    -Light and very smooth feel
    -Pedal strap and bag included
-Amazon.co.jp, great service. 4-day international shipping

    Cons
-Design hasn’t changed since 2009. Spring holder still doesn’t swivel
-Plastic bolts used on the spring assembly

I purchased this while looking for a kick pedal for my Yamaha DD500 Midi Drum and Yamaha KP65 Kick Tower.
This pedal is highly adjustable in both the pedal position and the throw of the beater.
The action is smooth but maybe just a little noisy, although with some 3 in 1 and find adjustments I believe this is easily resolved.
The adjustments use a 1/4″ square drum key and you’ll probably want to pick one up to make adjustments easier, although a very small crescent wrench may just do the trick.
If you are using it for the same purpose or for any other electronic or acoustic set, I don’t think you can go wrong with this pedal.
    Great value!

I’ve owned this pedal for a year now, and I’m still satisfied with it. I use it in a jazz context. I love this pedal, because it’s just as smooth as the Yamaha FP-8500B, but it’s lighter and more portable. It fits easily into a small backpack with my stick bag and Real Book. I’m already lugging around my cymbal bag, and sometimes my snare, so having a pedal that doesn’t need it’s own case is huge for me.
I know DW is the industry standard, but it always takes me a while to set up those pedals properly. The Yamahas are great right out of the box. The only thing I adjusted was the tension. Honestly, most pedals at this price are well-designed. I chose Yamaha because I’ve had the best experiences with their build quality in general.
I travel with this pedal three times a week and I’ve had no issues in a year (and no maintenance whatsoever). Each time I clip it to the bass drum, it feels and plays the same. A great value as far as I’m concerned.

Very fast, very adjustable. Plenty sturdy. Takes a little getting used to due to the direct drive. It has increased my triplet speed.

It is worth the extra money to have a compatible pedal for your drums.
