Needed a bone saddle and setup so four stars but a very noticeable improvement. I must have been lucky. Still opening up after three years of at least two hours daily average of playing. Complicated, rich overtones. Big voice. Fine, accurate fretboard. Great tuners. I can draw out many subtle sounds on the same chord progression so definitely a fine mid priced guitar. I did need to do a little work on it but very happy.

Don’t be fooled, this is not a quality instrument. I bought it after read countless articles and reviews saying “sure it’s made in China, but this particular instrument is fantastic” etc.

No, it’s not “fantastic”, it was hot garbage. Tonally speaking you can tell it’s not a bad sounding guitar, but the amount of corners cut blows my mind. The finish and outside/external body of the guitar was absolutely immaculate.

It’s not until you look on the INSIDE of the guitar that you start to notice major manufacturing issues. The lattice/bridge wood piece on the inside of the guitar was peeling from the body. There was loose glue on the inside of the guitar, as well as broken pieces of wood floating around from who knows where.

Then you start to play the thing and the entire façade falls apart. This is the worst playing guitar I’ve ever played. The strings buzz constantly due to poor quality fret installation and improper intonation. Not to mention this is one of the highest bridges I’ve ever played. Very high bridge and yet it still buzzes constantly, to me that is a huge red flag.

TLDR: The body looks pretty from the outside, the finish is excellent, but the craftsmanship is extremely poor.

In short you should not buy a guitar made in a country that has no heritage making classical guitars and doesn’t often include that style of music in their culture. The employees making these guitars likely make $4 an hour and have probably never played a guitar in their life. Buy guitars made in countries where the people will know what one should sound like. Namely Japan, Germany, and of course Spain.

I believe the product has a good workmanship and the best materials why I’m saying this because the product never arrived even did report it to the customer service but it’s never arrived. A to x guarantee not work customer service either, all depends on your luck, eventually asking for damages or defects item picture, how to get a picture if the item never received?

This is a very nice classical guitar for the money: decent sound, OK action and quality fit and finish. Delivery and service from Chicago Music Exchange was first rate.

Good materials and beautiful deep sound. Glad I went with the cedar. The ebony fretboard has a “soft” look & feel, and is quite pleasing to glide around. The action on this guitar as received was quite high, and I had a hard time barring at the first fret, or playing much of anything around the 12th. You will probably want to take it to a luthier to get set up, though if you’re considering spending $900 on a guitar, you probably already know this. After a quick setup mine is playing like a dream.

Package arrived a little beat-up, but thankfully the guitar comes in a nice semi-hard case and was well protected. The outer material of the case is woven from some sort of fiber, and my cat really likes to scratch it, so you may want to keep it out of reach if you have a furry friend.

Very nice clear tone, well made guitar. It’s worth the money and I believe that it would work well with someone attending conservatory or music school. My only complaint is not about the guitar, but about the advertising. In the listing under: About this item: it states: “choice of solid spruce or American cedar”. There was no option to choose. If you’re going to say that there’s a choice, then add an option to choose.

I have no complaints about the guitar though, and it arrived within two days. I’m in my 60’s and have been playing guitar since i was 12. I gave it 5 stars for beginners, but it’s actually more of an intermediate instrument. A beginner would benefit greatly from the tone and clear notes but it is an instrument you would want to keep for many years and take care of. One last thing: it needed no setup on arrival. It was set up perfect and ready to play.

I purchased this guitar about 2 years on a whim because my primary instrument was inadequate. This one sounded light years better than my old one, but as I played on I became very dissatisfied with the “plasticy” sound. Again still better than my old one and very well set up in terms of action height, fret board levelness and overall playability. However, I started to feel like I could have purchased the same sound for several hundred dollars less. Finally, after 2 years, I took a Saturday to make a real bone saddle and nut, and now I feel like I have jumped up several levels on the sound. Better tone, better volume, better resonance and frankly a really easy upgrade that has really made this instrument sing and takes advantage of everything else this guitar has to offer. Do this and you will be happy with your purchase.

I know very little about guitars but my wife likes it. Seems like a good value for the money.
