This is the second wire stripper in this style I’ve bought. There was nothing wrong with the first 1 (was a different model also from amazon) I gave it to a friend to borrow today, and when I saw this told him to keep it. The metal front handle feels super solid, has a huge range for pressure adjustment, and the cutter blades are positioned great so you don’t have to squeeze until handles are fully touching to cut wire. I’ll update in a few weeks after some use, but I would take this over my $50 Klein stripper every time, no question.

These just arrived and I will use them today. The design is cool. Innovative and so far strong (good thing in a tool).
BUT the directions are contradictory. They are quite limited (not a brochure or the like–just the back of the cardboard label material) which is okay EXCEPT that it says “automatic” for wire thickness but also, there is a knob for adjusting for wire thickness. Which is it? If the latter, how is that determined without ruining the wire? Sure many wires are of obvious thickness (gauge) but some are not. The contradictory description/ instructions, which as I recall were also in the Amazon page, are troubling. I went ahead with the purchase thinking that what came with the product would be clearer. Wrong!

Definitely for flat wire, will work on round wire but you will need to fiddle with the grip adjustment screw on the back of the head to get it right. Does the job for what it is and isn’t a bad price.

This replaced an identical wire stripper that was many years old that broke. It works great on thin wire (landscape lighting) but is stressed when used on heavier gauge wire; that caused the old one to break. This new one has a new adjustment to cut larger gauge wire. Nonetheless, purchased a better quality stripper to use for the larger gauge wire.

These worked fine at first now they won’t strip anything. Different number of conductors, types of insulation, size, nothing seems to matter. It bites down too hard. Shreds small wires, larger wire it can’t rip apart it just digs into. I’ve tried adjusting tension and even went so far as to disassemble and reassemble to see if something broke. No idea. Everything looks fine, even the tensioner.

This tool falls into the category of
“You get what you pay for”.
Unfortunately, the adjusting slider on mine is not very easy to move, and also will not slide all the way back due to one of the two metal pins being too high up to move passed it. So it was not built precisely. And for those who aren’t sure of how the rotating knob works.. you rotate it all the way left for thicker wires, and all the way right for thinner wires, either way you rotate, it will automatically adjust to the thick or thin wire, and give you a nice cut. Other than the slight faults I experienced, it is a good tool, and gets the job done. Hope this review helps some people out.
