Cost effective! Clear! Functional as they are easy to assemble, disassemble and clean. Easy to open and close with a lock. Stackable! (I just realized that’s what the cutout on the front bottom is for!) Sturdy which is necessary since these get moved around multiple times a day. No scratches yet despite many people handling and moving.
Only issue thus far is that one is the rubber bands used to secure the sides (etc) broke immediately when we used it. This wasn’t a problem because there were a few extra in the package, and you really don’t need to secure all 13 places. Habitat will stay together fine with a few missing. You can also just use a regular rubber band or hair tie in its place.

You and I both know how hard it is to find something aesthetically pleasing, practical, effective, reasonably priced, and safe all in one. This is it. I’ve done extensive research about acrylic enclosures and where to find them in Canada. For the amount of effort it takes to find something that will keep your animal safe and happy this price is more than acceptable. Standardized acrylic boxes only work to a degree and they require a lot of DIY tools. The only work I did to this enclosure was creating a seal between the bottom and side walls using aquarium silicone. My tarantulas can be housed in these from the moment they are a tiny sling – I have no fear of their escape due to the sizing of the ventilation slits. If I rehouse a 1/2”-3/4” sling in here I would simply cover the ventilation slits with tape and use a needle to poke numerous inescapable holes. Also the set up isn’t that complicated. Get this enclosure, you won’t regret it. I have four varieties of the Microhabitats and I’ve never been disappointed.

This product was super easy to put together, took no time at all. This also makes it super easy to clean. It has a decent bit of space and has great value to it. This item stays together pretty well and the instructions are pretty clear. It’s definitely for an arboreal animal, such as spider, mantis, or a tarantula sling.

Great habitat has a lot more room that you expect you can even fit a soaking dish in it for amphibians. Assembly is really easy be VERY CAREFUL installing the lock mechanism it puts pressure on a very small point close to the edge and makes it prone to cracking. Monroe has plenty of space in here, he loves it. I was worried about the water condensation leaking out but the elastics hold the panels really tight and I have no issues. Also these elastics aren’t your normal rubber bands these things are THICC. Another bonus is that these are stackable so if you plan for lot of small reptiles and amphibians you could create a stacking unit. Overall this mini enclosure is great I recommend for beginner getting there first exotic pet.

Okay so I understand that most buyers of these enclosures are new to the tarantula hobby. That’s because seasoned hobbyists know that they can modify a $4 AMac box from the Container Store and net the same result. I also know that the most common species that most new keepers are going to put into this enclosure are Avicularia’s. This isn’t a bad thing, but it could be much better with a simple design modification.
Avicularia’s, as well as other arboreal tarantulas are extremely dependent on cross ventilation. Now you may say “Perfect, this enclosure has air slots on both sides.” This is true, slots on both sides are good but it could be much better. If there were a second set of slots below these it could create convection. Air would enter the enclosure from the bottom slots, as the air warmed and became humid from the dampness of the substrate it would rise up and exhaust from the top vents. A constant flow of air. In at the bottom, out at the top. By not having those holes at the bottom that convention is inhibited. Yes there are gaps for air to enter at different places on the enclosure but why not put a second set of air vents below the existing vents? It would cost nothing, and make the enclosures a more suitable habitat for air flow dependent species. I modified mine by drilling two rows of holes down low but if I am going to have to drill the acrylic, it becomes hard to justify the cost when I can make the same modifications to an AMac box.

The pros: The acrylic is very clear and attractive. Its easy to assemble and light weight. The folding door is secure and the latch is intelligently designed. This is a decent enclosure that could be a great enclosure if Zilla would better educate themselves on the needs of the animals that they are designing these enclosures for.

I absolutely adore these enclosures, they come with instructions and are easy to assemble as well as peel off the protective layer.
I have a total of 4 myself and plan to buy more in the future. I use them for my jumping spiders and they seem to enjoy them.

I like the front opening door, very appropriate for an arboreal tarantula. But can be assembled for horizontal terrestrial T’s or small lizard
