This works fine for my situation, but no part of this light is 24 inches, even though it says 24 inches on the retail box. So, I thought I’d post the actual dimensions, in case someone else needs a light that is actually 24 inches.
The retail box is 23 1/2 inches.
The light housing is 22 7/8 inches
The bulb is 18 inches.

This is my third bulb from this company. The original lasted over a year (maybe 1.5?). When i got the ‘second’ bulb it only lasted a day and quit working. I contacted Amazon and they mailed out a replacement immediately. Of course I sent the bad one back to them. I’m happy with the product. It lasted a long time, and they quickly replaced the bad one.

I ordered this Zilla Tropical T8 light for my bearded dragons enclosure. I have him in a 55 gallon tank that we converted from a fish tank to a reptile tank so I needed something larger than a dome light. I went with the 30″ because I didn’t want it to be too close to the heat lamp and melt. This comes with a 25UVB bulb which is plenty for a beardie. They technically only need 10.0UVB but depending on the reptile or animal you have that would need this you would need to make sure to select the correct strength or buy a different bulb. This strip light is very lightweight and super easy to use. The bulb itself is very easy to get in and out and the back of the strip has the on/off button that is very easy to get to. I have this light hooked up to a timer outlet and it works perfectly! I have only had a couple times that the bulb looked like it was flickering but I pushed it back in to fit tightly and it stopped. I’m thinking during shipping it was knocked loose a bit and I didn’t push it in hard enough. Problem solved and overall I am loving it and it is plenty of light for a 55 gallon reptile enclosure!

Absolutely awful. The bulb that came with it didn’t last more than maybe two months of 10-14 hours of daily use. Feels extremely flimsy, cheap switch, thin plastic and extremely thin power cable and just shorted out for no reason after just barely six months of use (Assuming it’s the ballast as I bypassed the switch and that made no difference, cheap, tiny Chinese ballast.) and took my Zoo Med 10.0 18″ bulb with it, a borderline $30 bulb which I cannot get replaced. You’re better off going to a hardware store and getting a quality one with a hood. Stay clear away from Zilla/Coralife/Central Aquatics. Every piece of Zilla merchandise I’ve had (That’s all they stock where I live.) has burned out or just not worked, I’ve returned countless already broken bulbs (Which they usually won’t take, no warranty on bulbs.), fixtures/bulbs with rusted sockets right out of the box, etc. Just stay away from them, don’t be lured in by the cheap price, spend a little extra and get a decent Zoo Med one or buy one with a hood from a hardware store.
Central Aquatic’s warranty is a joke too, you must pay for the shipping, packaging and handling fees minus them shipping you a new one. I wouldn’t want a replacement anyways. When all is said and done you’re looking at another $10-$15 depending on where you’re shipping too and from. Completely not worth it for a $30 fixture that will break in less than a year. My most disappointing purchase from Amazon to date, not their fault in any way or the seller’s. Just a horrible product from a bad company.
I’ve been suckered into spending hundreds of dollars on Zilla products since it’s all my pet stores stock around here because of emergency situations where I couldn’t just order one from Amazon due to a brand new bulb popping for absolutely no reason. I am completely fed up with their products and will no longer even think of using them. I’ll just be buying backups of Zoo Med and Repti-Glo products from now on. Shame on Zilla.
