This product seems to be working as intended, i use it to dechlorinze my chameleons drinking water, and the chamealeon seems to still be drinking the water and seems to be healthy still, not to mention ive had this for over a month filling about a gallon of water every two days (32 drops of this product) and i cant even see a dent in how much of this ive used, at this rate i can see this one bottle lasting me a year or more.

This product is Awesome. I was using a product that came with an aquatic turtle kit and it sucked. I had to change the water every 3-5 days and it was nasty. It’s been over a week now and the water is still clear and doesn’t smell. All I have had to do is clean debris with a net and add more water due to evaporation. I would highly recommend this product. It is well worth the money. It may seem to cost a bit more than some other products but you save in the long run by not having to change the water as frequently. My turtle seems to enjoy being in the water more too.
The only warning I give for this product is to have it shipped separate of any products that may be damaged by liquid. The product was wrapped in a plastic bag by amazon but not well enough. Because the product did not have any kind of seal on it; it leaked blue liquid all over a brand new textbook I ordered from Amazon. The book in still usable, but I will not be able to resell it under “mint” condition.

Boudiou je sais pas ce qu’ils foutent dans ce produits mais mes serpenteaux adooooorent, la première fois que je leur ai présenté ça dans de l’eau, ils se sont tous jetés dedans pour boire ou se baigner.
J’ai remarqué que peu avant la mue, il était très fréquent que mes gutts, dont la plupart ne se baignaient pas du tout, fassent un petit tour dans l’eau (ce qui m’a valu de réarranger l’un des terras puisqu’il y avait inondation sur inondation, donc j’ai dû retirer une partie du substrat et le remplacer par de la sphaigne bien absorbante, que je change et mets à sécher dès qu’elle est détrempée).
C’est en tout cas une superbe découverte, mes serpents adorent !

We have 2 tanks and use this in both of them. Every time we change water or add water, we grab the blue bottle!
We’ve noticed several benefits of using ReptiSafe.
1 – We use filters that produce waterfalls, and the splashes can leave hard water spots on the sides of the tank. The sides of the tanks used to get so full of water marks we couldn’t see our turtles unless we looked over the top of the tank. We’ve found that there aren’t as many stains since we started using this almost a year ago.
2 – Water marks can be very hard to scrub off! It isn’t safe to use cleaning chemicals on the inside of the tank, so we add a squirt of this to a wet sponge, and those stains come off very easily.
3 – The water stays clear longer. We used to change half the water every week, and we still had to dismantle the tanks every 2 weeks to scrub the slime off the basking platform steps and the rocks. Often, the water would turn greenish and cloudy between cleanings. Now we change half the water once a week, and it’s rare that we have to do anything more than replace the filter cartridges.
4 – It’s great for the turtles because they no longer have to be removed from their homes for hours at a time while we clean. They used to spend hours “remodeling” after we cleaned the tanks, but now their rocks stay where they want them. There’s no upheaval or disorientation, so the boys are much more relaxed. Happier turtles = happier humans!

I bought this so I can treat tap water for my crested gecko. I wasn’t sure about the size or how long this would last me, but after using this for a couple weeks I’m not worried.
A couple drops per cup is really not bad, and the bottle barely seems to be missing liquid after treating my gecko’s water.
The bottle is very easy to use, it’s not hard to control the drops. I can’t tell yet how they water is effecting my gecko’s health and don’t have a way to test the water but so far I’m satisfied with this product from what I’m able to evaluate.
I’d definitely buy this again!

For what this product does, it is wonderful and does it well. If I were to recommend, in my position as director of a reptile rescue, a de-chlorinator that removes both chlorine and chloramines from tap water, I would recommend Repti-Safe as the best, as I have done before and after strip tests and it genuinely does lower the level of chlorine and chloramines. So if you are in an emergency and must use tap water for your reptile or amphibians water, then using a de-chlorinator such as Zoo Med ReptiSafe is an absolute must-have. It can and will harm your reptile’s health to give them plain untreated tap water for a duration of time, and will most especially harm amphibians who normally have more softer and absorbent skin than reptiles.
One should never, ever use tap water with reptiles, especially since they drink from their water and gain humidity from water. Heavy metals, chemicals, and lots of chlorine and chloramines are present in tap water. If you ONLY have tap water in an emergency you can use a de-chlorinator such as Repti-Safe, which will remove chlorine and chloramines as well as some of the chemicals, however it can not remove heavy metals and many others toxins in tap water, which is why distilled water, filtered water (obviously the better the filter the better the water), bottled water, or purified water.
Finally, to aid in shedding and to increase humidity for your reptile while adding a wonderful effect use a reptile fogger, specifically the Blue Spotted Deep Jungle Reptile Fogger which works great for our reptile rescue: Deep Jungle Fogger, Advanced Humidifying Fogger For Reptiles & Amphibians In Terrariums & Aquariums! Provides Essential Moisture & humidity For The Well-being Of Your Pet Reptile and Amphibians! but any fogger increases humidity in a more effective way than most of the misters on the market!)
In Conclusion, ReptiSafe is a highly recommended product to keep on hand in case you ever need to use tap water in a pinch, however, as mentioned above, ideally one should use purified water of some type for the ideal health of your reptile.
