Sand came in great condition, no spillage and airtight. The sand is slightly less fine than the beige coloured one of the same brand, but after some sifting it’s great. I use it for my hamster sand bath and it’s my new favourite!

Darn hamster uses it for a potty and not a sand bath. Not the sands fault that Willy is a stubborn boy. Pro is tank cleaning is easier now.
Cristian Diaz –
My bearded dragon loves this sand. Makes him feel right at home. He loves digging in it and laying on it all the time. Great scent, great quality, very smooth and fine will purchase again
Michael Harms –
My little hamster loves it! He rolls in it, and also uses it like a litter box (only one corner).

I used this sand in my hamster’s sandbox. She uses it as a potty. It’s easy to scoop and sift. And it clumps when wet, so it’s easy to see where she pees and to scoop it out.
The color is really nice, but it’s just cheaper to buy A $5 (50lb) bag of children’s play sand from my local hardware store. That sand takes a little work to bake, and sift out large rocks, but in the long run it’s a much better option for me.
But this reptisand is a better consistency than the super grainy play sand. So it depends on the hamster you have. Dwarf hamsters may want to actually roll around and bathe in their sand, so this sand is softer and a better option. My Syrian only wants to dig a bit before going potty in it, so grainy play sand is the better option.

This sand makes my grandson Beared dragon’s cage look good with it’s red color. I was afraid the bearded dragon would turn red, but that did not happen. The only problem I have is that it is very costly compared to getting just a plain colored reptile sand so I won’t be buying it again. Beared dragon’s are expensive enough without adding an expensive decorative sand.

My hamster uses it for a sand bath, (and also as a litterbox) it’s much safer for their lungs than the dusts marketed for small animals. Its much softer and finer than the Exoterra sand we used previously which is kind of a good thing except it gets kicked out of the container easier, if it were the only substrate like in a reptile tank that wouldn’t be an issue. It also has lots of debris in it (mostly looks like tiny shreds of wood) which is very obvious against the red/orange colour, i do worry a little about that. It does clump up when it gets wet and it’s easier to clean up the clumps with this finer sand than the other stuff we were using which would cement to the bottom.

It’s was very soft and I liked the color, recommend for hamsters!!

I’ve seen the reviews where someone’s sand came with a hole in it, or even ripped. I bought this by chance hoping mine came in closed packaging. I’d say if someone were to by this it should be by chance knowing it may come ripped. My hamsters love it. I bought this months ago still have 3 sandwich bags of it. For the pricing of different types of reptisand I believe they should think about BETTER PACKAGING to prevent LEAKS.

My Roborovski dwarf hamster prefers this sand over the CaribSea aquarium sand. He doesn’t kick this sand out of the litter/bath tray. It has obvious little rocks, but a few sifts to remove the bigger pieces seem to be enough effort – maybe Ham Ham likes some rocks.

I’ve been using this as a gerbil sand bath for months, and it works wonders; ive never had any issues! the gerbils love rolling around in it, and it’s one of the few products I’ve found that actually works for them and doesn’t make them sick! it’s virtually dust free and makes for very happy and clean gerbils :]
