When you first put the spider wood in water in will float. Don’t worry after a day or as it becomes more saturated it will stay in place.

This was perfect for my tank and looks great. I did boil it for a few to get rid of the tannins so it wouldn’t change the water. It did how ever change to a reddish color, but I think it adds to it and makes my tank pop. It’s really nice and the quality is great and I love the way it looked.

I know that each piece of wood will be unique and probably much different than the photo. The piece of spider wood that I received was so different from the photo that I couldn’t even use it for my pet. I was hoping that it would at least be similar in size or shape to what was pictured.

Since it’s wood, and natural, I knew it wouldn’t be exactly like the stock photo being used, but I didn’t expect it to be this wildly different. I bought it for a snake enclosure. There’s only one level to it, so if I want to actually use the flat part of the wood, I can’t, because it would need to hang off something. I could turn it and get it to balance one other way, but those two pieces sticking out would not be enough to hold the snake’s weight, nor give him actual “climbing” activity.

When I received it, I put it in a tub of water and soaked it 4 days. It floated on the top of my aquarium. So I boiled it for a day, and it still won’t stay on the bottom. It’s nice and large, but I don’t have a way to keep it on the bottom.

Very nice piece of spider wood. It was just the right size for my hermit crab tank. Very nice quality wood. I will be buying another one when I upgrade my tank.
