We got this to help heat a converted garage that doesn’t heat well. This worked great! It can take a little while to get up to temp (the room has a high ceiling and its about 400sqft), but it does well to maintain the heat and kept us cozy all winter. The best part is the unit itself doesnt get really hot so you can touch it without getting hurt (which is great if you have going kids). Highly recommended, worth the price!

I bought 3 of these, one for my basement and 2 for my living areas. These are great little heaters. I was on oil heat and to fill our oil for the winter would have been insaine costs up front. Did running 3 of these effect my bill, heck yeah! Lol probably cost me 300 to 400 every 2 months. Still was cheaper then oil heat. These heaters are great if you want to just set it and forget it! We had power outages and as soon as the power came back on the thermostat kicks on and warms to the temperature you previously set. Would buy again! They can save you money!

The light is very bright at night and I have to cover it, however the temperature output is pretty good and it is cool to the touch. Increased my power bill by a lot, but worth it.

This heater is well worth every penny. It heats up my lower level of my townhouse pretty quickly and it’s a large space. It’s mid Nov and I’ve yet to turn my heat on! You can leave it running all night or set the timer to have it turn on at a certain time so that your place is nice and warm prior to waking up. Tricky to figure out but just hit the timer button at the bottom of the panel and touch the + symbol to input the hours you want the heater to start and then it’ll switch over to when you want it to shut down and just price the + symbol to input the shut off time. Comes with a nice remote too. HIghly recommend. Just wished I had purchased the 3rd one prior to it getting cold out but still worth the money.

Images show: 64F is air coming out. 75F on HIGH is what I have HS-1500-IlODG set to. And 63F is the living area thermostat reading. Note — the heater has been running for 3hrs at 68F and it was failing at keeping 62F. So it’s been getting turned up by a few degrees over the past hour and managed to increase by 1 degree. Also, it’s pointing kind of in the direction of the thermostat, only 6ft away. AND its a 50F rainy day in foothills of Sierra in California… we are not even talking near freezing or snow conditions (which rarely happen here).
If your space is small and it’s not super cold. Hallways or small bedrooms with long preheating time .. it’s .. OKAY. But if you know that better ones exist at same price points, it’s insulting the claims they make. I will probably return it. I can’t compare other brands or models, I only have this one and the DR999, and if you need something that heats really well, my advice is get the DR or research other brands.
Comparison:
I got this a second heater after getting Dr Infrared 999. It was comparable in every way per tech specs and price point. Only reason I didn’t get another DR999 was because it was no longer on sale, and this one seemed identical in all function and heating capacity and was on a decent sale.
Once I’ve ran them long enough individually, I can say: DR999 will actually heat a 1000sqft space and this Heat Storm blows kinda warm air most of the time. And the if moved to a room that is warmer than the temperature set on the heater, it somehow keeps blowing cooler air (I maybe could’ve waited fro see how long before it shut off, but having it blow cool air for 30sec at you when it shouldn’t run at all.. it’s miserable).
If pointing at you, you get cool air blown in your direction if heater is not directly in front of your face (within 1-2ft at MOST ). I know it’s heating the area somewhat because the temperature is not dropping bellow a certain point, but it simply doesn’t heat the amount it needs for heating an area before you get annoyed with all the cool air circulating. Best for space where you are not present which is also heated by some other source. It’s all bells and whistles of cool UI and remote, but not much heat (which is the only important part of a heater). Where as DR999 fails to show correct temperature and it’s heavy and it’s remote needs to be pointed so exactly it’s not useful…. BUT it’s a BEAST. I can keep my 400sqft master area at 65F by running on LOW power and set at 58-60F and heat that space within 10-15min by setting it above 60F. While this Heat Storm set on HIGH at 68F running 24/7 and is barely keeping 62F in the room during the day and I can’t use it in bedrooms because it blows so much cool air. I have to sit with it blowing directly at me to feel it’s warmth, but then I’m annoyed that it blowing at me. The reason is that it’s showing the accurate temperature internally — so if you set it to 68F it’s going to keep it at this temperature, but then the air that’s actually coming out of. It is already at 65 maximum by the time it comes out and ends 1ft away it’s 63F.. so in order for this machine to maybe the room you may have to set it at some extreme temperature like well over 75. And running it on high sitting at the highest temperature is 24/7, even if it’s more economical than most, it’s a waste of energy.
Meanwhile, I can use DR999 to dry wet shoes or clothing as well as in front of a fireplace.
In fact, if I have the heat storm heating the living and dining area, I have to use the fireplace because it barely maintains 62-63F within a 5F radius while it’s only 45-55F outside. While using DR999 I don’t have to use any other heat source at all – I just move it from master to living. And the only reason we needed a second one was because we had kids staying and needed multiple areas heated without using up a ton of propane to heat the whole 2600sqft house when only half is used at any point.
The only difference where this Heat Storm is better are non heat related:
1. Its light
2. Its display can be turned off for night time
3. Its easy to wheel around
4. Its temperature gauge is accurate (it shows exact temp in the room, while DR999 is confusing and inaccurate, but heats so well)
But, again, it’s a heater.. so those are nice to have options if and only if the heater part is working well.

Just as subscribed very stable, took the chill out of the bedroom. Great job.

My heat pump went out, with cold temperatures outside. Have 2 story house, this heater kept the upstairs warm but not hot. Have 1 downstairs and it kept downstairs warm enough to knock off the chill. Will purchase another one as backup until I get my heat pump replaced.

This heater works great for heating our bedroom. It was enough to take the chill away in some of the larger rooms in our home (living room, kitchen). It’s pretty light and easy to move around. Overall, for the price, it’s a great buy.

It comes back on after a power failure. Much better than the older ones.

This unit has it all; good looking, compact, runs quietly, has a nice big display (goes away once set to consumers need), and, most importantly-it works wonderfully!
The unit can be set either on the unit or, the remote control.
The instructions I found to be straightforward, however, the booklet includes a code that once scanned, a video tutorial is available.
Priced right, loaded with features, good looking and easy to use.

It looks nice but doesn’t warm up quickly and is very loud
