Set up my first tank only to find out my water is super high PH and high KH. This product was easy to use, and worked rather quickly! I have to treat the water 3 times in 24 hrs and the water was a bit cloudy the third treatment. Worth the fix! Thank you for saving my fishes lives!!

I found this product to be very helpful in maintaining my aquarium at7.0. Don’t expect this to be a miracle cure that keeps your tank perfectly at7.0 forever. This is meant to be something that helps you to avoid sudden shifts in pH, maintain a relatively stable pH between tank changes, or helps to bring your pH back to 7.0 when something altered it.
There really is no true way to keep an aquarium exactly at 7.0, and if the pH is changing rapidly that would be an indicator that there is something wrong with the overall water quality of the aquarium. Simply forcing the pH to remain at 7.0 doesn’t mean water changes can be skipped or that overfeeding won’t harm the water quality; all it really means is that the pH is within the ideal range of 7.0. I do bi-weekly water changes in my 40 gallon tank, and between changes I use this to maintain the pH at or around 7.0. My pH will drop to about 6.7 and this brings it back to 7.0, and then by the next water change it will be about 6.7 again until I change the water. This isn’t meant to keep your tank at 7.0 forever, but it works great to help maintain a healthy aquarium.
If you find that this doesn’t dissolve in the aquarium or it leaves the water cloudy you can dissolve it in water before putting it in the tank. I don’t mind the cloudiness because when used in the recommended amounts it only stays cloudy for about 15-20 min as it dissipates into the water. I really don’t see any reason why this would harm your filtration media when used properly. If anything the particles would get stopped in the filtration media which reduces the cloudiness as it continues to dissipate.

Maybe it’s not the correct product for my usage. My water started at 9.4 PH and after using the whole bottle over a 2 week span I could not get the water below 8.2. May work for other sources of water but not mine. Bought some PH down by same manufacturer hoping it does the job. Then tablets to use once a month to keep PH at 7,0.

This is a good product, as long you don’t expect it to work over night. The way I found worked well was get containers for weekly water changes. Fill the containers the night before a water change, add all your water conditioner, and add this product. This also prevents shock, as the water becomes room temp, giving your thermostat less work to do, This stabilises the water in the containers to 7.0ph. Obviously it’s not an over night fix which some people think it is but give it 2-4 weeks of weekly water changes and you’ll have 7.0ph continuous. Hope this helps

Ruins the ph balance. Cannot get it to adjust correctly no matter what I do! I have added the whole bottle and a whole bottle of PH up over the last month and cannot get the ph above 6.4 max. Guess I am going to have to drain tank and start over to get rid of this stuff!!
