I got this to test my car at home instead of going to the store for diagnostics, and it works great! It’s easy to plug in and read the codes, saving me time and money. For the price, it’s a fantastic tool that’s simple to use and very handy.

This is my first engine code reader, and I admit I have lots to learn. The device plugs in easily under my dashboard and immediately comes to life, showing me list after list of engine checkpoints. This device looks and feels very well made. The screen is bright and very readable, and the cool-looking buttons are well-labeled. My only issue is the lack of information about what all those cryptic codes mean. The instructions are bare-bone and appear to be written for those who really know their way around car engines and these diagnostic devices. And, unfortunately, that’s not me! I’m exploring other sources of info that explain how to interpret these codes.

This allowed me to self diagnose a car issue without dealing with lying mechanics. I was able to walk in for a repair with knowledge of the problem. Also saved me 2 small repairs I could handle myself.

This OBD2 scanner works as described. I was able to connect it to my 2015 Chrysler Town and Country and see the status of onboard sensors. I do not currently have an error light, but my oil change notification was not reset by the shop. I thought this device would let me reset that code, but it did not let me do that. If there were trouble codes, I would be able to access it with this tool. I was able to update the firmware easily by connecting the tool to my computer and using the software from the website for updates. It has a good solid feel. I would recommend turning off the beeps in the settings. They are very loud and annoying, but you might need that volume level in a loud shop. It is less expensive than other OBD2 scanners, and will be useful to me in the future for DIY mechanic work at home.

This car scanner works as advertised. Display is bright and clear and diagnostic codes are indicated clearly. I have a first generation model but this one beats the socks out of my older model. It’s very usable and If you are looking for one, I would recommend this without hesitation. Good price point too.

I have used several scan tools ranging from $50 – $5000, and this tool gives you a lot of what you would need as a DIY person and more. I like the feel of the tool: it is like holding a thick cell phone. The buttons feel good to the touch and give a nice dampened “clicky” action (no touch screen, but good navigation buttons). As soon as I plugged this in (Ford Expedition) it turned on and began reacting. It could identify the vehicle and didnt ask for much information. I chose ABS tests and within seconds it had scanned that module and no codes were present. Withinn the “battery test” menu are two tests; battery condition (where it asks to leave the lights on and measures relative drop), and a charging/alternator test. Each test takes 30 seconds. When I selected “live engine data” the tool prepared to watch about 50 PIDS. I was happy to see that they displayed with quick reaction time even without selecting a specific subset of PIDS (its a little qucker with a selected PID to watch). I was happy to see that it had “misfire monitor” where I could watch the results for each cylinder and actually saw a poor test result on one of my cylinders. The tool can display READINESS MONITORS almost instatly, and here in California that is a feature I use a lot to prepare for our smog checks. The cord on this scanner is a little short at a little under 3 feet, but cosider this a compact handy package. Overall this exceeded my expectations

I have been needing one of these for a while and finally decided to get one. It does as intended, and like how you can hook it up to a computer, But; it did not come with the cable to hook it up to the computer as advertised in the instruction manual. The missing wire is why I gave it 4 stars.
