I just love to listen to this singing group and continue finding Audio CD’s to complete my collection. No other group can sound better than them in my personal opinion

The Oak Ridge Boys actually started out in the mid-forties as a Gospel group and were called Oak Ridge Quartet.They changed their name in the 60’s to The Oak Ridge Boys ,but continued to sing Gospel In the mid-70’s they changed direction and concentrated mainly on Country Music.If one were to pick their Signature song,it would have to be “Elvira”.
All through these years, there were many musicians involved with the quartet,actually over 50 in all.
They produced a huge number of albums.This particular album was released in 1978 and is a compilation of songs from 1973,74,75,76,and 78.It is Vinyl LP and excellent quality.It was produced by Columbia and has the number 3502.
The Oak Ridge Boys have released so many albums,it is hard to pick one,but nonetheless this is an excellent choice.I am writing my review under this listing,but there are also several other listings of what look like the same album here on Amazon.
There are two very interesting tracks ,for me anyway.First ,”The Baptism Of Jesse Taylor” which they have recorded many times;and then their version of that great Kristofferson song “Why Me Lord?”
Heck,overall this is a great collection,and since the songs are not listed here,I’ll list them;
THE BAPTISM OF JESSE TAYLOR
LOVES ME LIKE ROCK
WHY ME
RYTHM GUITAR
FREEDOM FOR TRHE STALLION
HEAVEN BOUIND
HE’S GONNA SMILE ON ME
WHERE THE SOUL NEVER DIES
FAMILY REUNION

This is one of my favorite ORB CD’s. Though their tenure on RCA only brought one true hit, “Lucky Moon,” they had a lot of good songs on their RCA albums. Their version of “Soul and Inspiration” is incredible. I recall having a cassette single of it back in the day, which I played until it stopped working. The Oaks, with Steve Sanders, were really, really, really good, though they have downplayed those years since William Lee Golden re-joined in the mid-1990’s. This set, featuring Steve Sanders, is the Oaks at their best.,

In pretty good condition for a LP. I plan to have a CDR made from it.

I have several of their CD’s. It’s amazing this group is still making great CD’s. This is an older CD with Steve Sanders in it. It was great.
