I ordered this to add under my countertop. I’ve chosen to eliminate a 15-inch base cabinet in favor of this cooler.
The cooler was delivered by Amazon’s transport service and arrived in perfect condition. To unpack this, you would be best to cut the cardboard around the base of the package and lift off the majority of the box. The package appears to be designed with this in mind, but the bottom is taped together in such a way that you have to lay the package on its side to cut the tape, which is NOT something you want to do before installation. You need for the unit to sit upright and unplugged for 6 – 12 hours before turning it on to make sure that all of the refrigerant settles into the bottom of the unit, else you could damage the cooling system.
The only thing “wrong” with the unit I received is that it appears the lower back panel is missing, and the compressor and internal parts are exposed. It appears there should be a vented panel to cover this… the screw holes are evident. This might be a problem if the unit was used freestanding.
Attaching the door handle to the door is a bit of a challenge… you have to pull out and loosen the seal in order to access the screw heads. Once you’ve attached the handle, you can reseat the seal with some pressure.
The interior of the unit boasts wooden slide-out drawers upon which you can place the wine bottles. There is a blue LED lamp at the top of the unit that you can control manually, but the lamp is more for effect than usefulness. It’s not activated by the door, and the blue light is so dim that you’ll need another light source to read the bottles. The temperature is set using the digital keypad at the top of the unit inside the door. A blue LED shows the settings, and typically shows the interior temperature. I was able to cool the unit to 41 degrees fairly quickly, as that’s the lowest setting available. Note… if you experience a power outage, make sure to check that the system retains its temperature setting.
Overall, the unit looks and feels well-constructed and durable. Time will tell how well the cooling system holds up, but since it is a refrigerant-based system and not thermoelectric, I suspect it should hold up well. This is a pricey unit, so one would hope that it has a good, long life.
For my purposes, this was a perfect choice, and I would order it again. It looks and performs exactly as described, and I’m happy with it.

The BODEGA wine fridge came nearly fully assembled with the exception of attaching the handle which required removal of part of the door seal to screw it on. After that, it was just plug and turn on. I purchased the 31 bottle unit which is a single zone cooler. The controls are very easy and consist of the power button, F or C, a lock switch to prevent someone messing with the temperature, temperature up and down buttons, and finally a light button.
I am using this unit as a standalone one and I am very pleased with the size and sound. The cooler is so quiet that I barely know its on. The wood racks inside feel a bit flimsy and loading the fridge is a bit challenging on the lower racks under the top one. You have to pull the entire wood rack out, place the bottles completely flat, then it can push in. The fridge holds most of the standard 750 ml bottles. If you have some wider bottles, you can put them on the top rack but just know you may not be able to fit the full 31 if you do this.
The light is blue which provides an elegant appeal and the whole unit looks very clean and professional. The stainless steel is very susceptible to finger prints and will absolutely get smudged up very quickly. It cools down fast and holds it temperature accurately.
Overall I am very happy with the BODEGA wine fridge. The 15 inch wide measurement makes it pretty easy to fit in most tight spaces and the 31 bottle capacity is plenty for a two person household. I like that it can be stand alone or built in so when we redo our kitchen in the future, I have the ability to build it into my cabinets if desired. My only issues are the flimsy wood shelves and the finger prints which are both easy to manage.

For wines that you want to have total control over their temperature, this is a good solution. Holds plenty and can even store a few cans or bottles of other beverages if you so choose. It’s temperature controlled and easy to set. Allows for both Ferinheight and Celsius readings. Easily programable. It’s quiet and looks nice, though a basic design. Kind of pretty when you turn the blue light on. Can be used with or without the light. Again, very easy to switch. Also comes with a lock and 2 sets of keys. May keep this cooler locked or unlocked depending on your needs.
One thing that surprised me though is that the racks are made of wood rather than steel. Personally, I prefer steel racks, but when I thought about it, I realized that some may prefer the wood because of how metal conducts temperature. Even though I enjoy the finer points of a better wine and its proper storing and use, I’m no sommelier and won’t be noticing that distinct difference. Besides, it’s not like I’m storing $5,000 bottles of wine in mine.
Love that I can completely control specific temperatures. Am even considering using two and setting one a bit cooler for my white wines and another one set at the 68* setting for my reds.
Other than my personal preference being steel racks over wood, this is a very good cooler for your own wine collection.
IMPORTANT: Do be aware though that the pricing with the size cooler is whacked out on this product page. Hopefully, once they read this review, they will fix their page. It’s kind of obvious, but just in case. Mine is the one that sells for $699.99 (today’s price). It does NOT hold 154 bottles. Instead, it’s the one that holds 31 bottles. Like I said, that’s kind of obvious, but wanted to make that clear for other potential buyers. Can’t speak to the other listings, but assume that the more they fit, the higher the price.
