I got these for an outside path or indoors for power outages to light a room a little. They work well and I like that they have an on/off switch but they don’t throw much light at all. I think they are meant for decorations in a garden and for that they work well.

This was for a replacement for an old, bigger diameter one that the wires broke at the point it enters the solar panel housing. I wish they provided a better strain relief at this point, even though I have it tacked down securing there, and all along the length of the feed, I think wind, ice, and snow places strain there. The diameter is perfect for using plastic 1/4″ c-clamps, although you can use a variety of different clamps. I wanted to use ones I could install with 3/4″ construction screws – a little more work initially but does make it easier to replace in the future. I would say the overall length of the lighted portion is closer to 34-35′, with the remaining unlit wire feed section making up the total 39′. This was the perfect length for my 8 x 8′ overhang with maybe 24″ overlap. I wish it had a test function on the switch – a little hard to determine if it is on, or charging when first taking it out of the box. As it turned out, I clicked the on/off switch once, let it charge for the day, and at sunset, it came on and was still bright at 5:00 am. I feel the illumination is as good or better than my older, larger rope light, so all good there. Maybe take it out of box, set it in sun still coiled, then check it the first night to find the on setting and leave it there while installing. That also guarantees you have a working unit before going through the trouble of installing it, but in my case, it wasn’t an issue. I’d probably buy it again when needed. Good price point too!

While they are not the bright lights I thought I ordered, they are perfect on my front porch. They truly are fairy lights, in that they are small, and have several settings to flicker or stay steady. They get a lot of sun in the day time, til about 4pm, and stay on the entire night. I love that! I lined my front porch and a post with them, and they are beautiful. I am very pleased with this product.

These stayed on all night right out of the box. We have had mostly cloudy days, but these lights kick on at dusk and stays on until dawn. The “rope” made feeding the strings through the chain link fence almost effortless. We needed something that helps show if our gate is open or closed at night. This does just that. Don’t expect this to light up an area though but it serves our purpose 100%.

The string lights are a nice length & work well around my deck they have held up well through the summer during the heat & rain storms. My only complaint is they are not as bright as others I have purchased in the past. Would recommend purchasing.
