The cartridge holder will screw onto a Schrader valve. This aspect was not shown in the seller’s listing, and should be. The drain cleaning hose that I received had a male thread end to screw into the holder, not as shown in the listing. It can be used to fill atv and bicycle tires if need be. I used it to clear the propane line on a mosquito trap, and it worked very well. The trigger is a little hard to press but that should allow for some degree of control when cleaning drains. I received this through the Amazon Vine program.

My 2 HVAC evaporator units are located in the attic. Both have gravity fed drain lines which end in the gutters. Every time my gutters are cleaned those drain lines get clogged by the debris from the gutters. I got this device to replace my old device which only used relatively expensive threaded cartridges. Moreover I often got freeze bites at the edge of my palms using the old device as the bottom of the cartridge was not covered by a protective rubber band. This one can accept both regular 12g unthreaded and threaded cartridges and keep the cartridge inside a rubberized plastic enclosure. Conical rubber tip perfectly fits small PVC drain lines. I usually plug the rubber tip directly into the tray drain and empty the entire cartridge in one go. This kit came with 6 unthreaded cartridges. I never spent more than 2 cartridges to open the hardest clogs.

Would not recommend as the product did not complete the job at task. Additionally, the product is way too pricey. If you want to try a product similar look for the cheapest one out there so you do not waste $38.99 plus tax.

Cleaning out the AC drain lines is one of the most annoying homeowner tasks there is. There is also a lot of misinformation about throw to handle it. It never fails too if you don’ t maintain it then the AC shuts off at midnight and won’t turn back on until the drain is cleaned. Enter the drain gun. I was pointed in this direction when I discovered my system for cleaning the drain pipe at my old house is useless for my new house. The exit pipe is much smaller so now my Shop vac will not seal on the pipe well. I was on Amazon shopping for hose attachments to fit the pipe when I came upon this drain gun. This appealed to me as a quick and easy solution. It seems to work well. I used two canisters the first time because I was not really sure how it worked. It does seem to clear the drain line although I imagine the thickness of the algae blob could make all the difference. Phase 1 I am now using the preventative liquid 3 times a year. At this point I am keeping the drain gun for phase 2. Phase 3 is to break out the trusty shop vac if the gun is not strong enough.
