CAMPERVAN DAN Paddle Board Cooler 11″x8″ – Waterproof Deck Bag

I ordered this as a replacement for the last paddleboard cooler. The features I like about this one are as follows: 1) it has four connection points to attach securely to my paddleboard, 2) has separate dry storage areas — this is a must have! Why have to carry multiple bags to keep your keys and phone dry!, 3) water resistant outer fabric — things get wet, it’s inevitable, 4) shoulder carry strap – important when your hands are occupied with the paddleboard, paddles, life vest, etc., 5) soft sided so you can fold and store when dry – mine even fits in my paddleboard carrying bag. So far, everything has worked as expected. The inside doesn’t leak when the ice melts and it keeps my cold stuff reasonably cold. For a soft sided cooler designed to fit on a paddleboard, it does great!

I recently grabbed this 11″x8″ Multifunctional Kayak Cooler and it is great. This compact cooler is the perfect addition to my kayaking and paddleboarding adventures.

It comes with all the necessary straps to securely mount it on both my kayak and paddleboard. The installation was straightforward, and the cooler stayed firmly in place even in choppy waters.

The cooler includes a waterproof phone holder, which is incredibly convenient. I no longer have to worry about my phone getting wet while out on the water. The holder keeps my phone safe and easily accessible.

This cooler is lightweight, making it easy to transport and handle. Despite its compact size, it has ample space for drinks and snacks. Impressively, it keeps everything cold all day long, even under the hot sun. This feature alone makes it a must-have for any water activity.

The Waterproof Cooler Deck Bag has a lot going for it, but like any product, it has its strengths and weaknesses.
Excellent Insulation: Using freezer ice packs instead of ice seems to have worked very well. Despite extreme temperatures (108 degrees) and prolonged exposure to the Arizona sun, my soda, fruit, and cheese stayed cold. The insulation is highly effective.
Versatile Storage Options: The multiple storage areas, including the insulated section and various pockets, are well-designed. The zipper storage pockets, though they let in some water, still offer useful space. The net pockets and open front pocket add to the bag’s versatility, providing ample room for additional items.
Compact and Fitting Design: The bag is compact and fits nicely on my paddleboard with room to spare.
Over-the-Shoulder Strap: While it was a bit cumbersome when attaching to my board, the strap is generally a useful feature for carrying the bag when not on the board.
Water Seepage: The zipper pockets and the areas around the seams seem to allow water to seep in despite the waterproof design. This is a notable flaw, as it compromises the protection of items stored in those pockets. The rubbery seal around the zippers might not be sufficient to prevent water ingress, especially in heavy use conditions.
Carabiner Quality: The carabiners provided with the bag are advertised as “stronger” but proved to be quite flimsy. Two of them broke on first use, I will replace these with higher-quality carabiners to ensure reliable performance.
Strap Cumbersome: The over-the-shoulder strap, while functional, can get in the way when securing the bag to the board. Opting for the handle straps seems to be a better solution for my needs.
Overall: The Waterproof Cooler Deck Bag with its insulation performance and versatile storage options, make it my choice for paddling trips, especially under intense sun. However, the issues with water seepage in the zipper pockets and the subpar quality of the carabiners are significant drawbacks. Despite these flaws, the bag’s overall design, fit on the board, and practical features make it my, “go to” cooler bag for paddling. I will replace the carabiners and make some adjustments with items I put in the zipper sections to address the waterproofing issues. Others have posted loads of good pics. I put the gallon milk jug in the insulated section to show how roomy it is.

Fit perfectly on the front of my board and I was easily able to tighten the straps to make sure it wasn’t loose. Most importantly, it kept my drinks cold all day! The dry storage section on the top of the cooler kept my phone dry the entire time. The zippers to each compartment are even watertight. At the end of the day I was able to compress the cooler down almost flat which fit inside my paddle board bag to use next time.
