I been a Bass player since I was 12, I’m now 65. In the 53 years of Rocking stages across the world I have had many hard shell case and the gig bags for local stuff. I ran across these Bass cases on the internet and purchased a couple to see if they were all that and wow they are by far the best light weight real wood construction case that I have had the pleasurer to use. Best feature is it protects your investment to the max if you take care of it!! I have 11 Bass guitars in my arsenal for any type of music. When I get a call to add a certain style of Bass to another musicians music you can bet my Basses are traveling in these cases!! I have no affiliation with this company at all, I’m just expressing my view on this product.

    Thanks
    Tim

Spacious but the padding is thin and materials flimsy. The locks are easy to close but too easy and could open accidentally if something knocked against them. The interior is spacious but the storage in the middle much smaller than these cases use to provide. The handle is fine. Stitching and stuff looks good but you can tell it will fray and look bad with useable. Use this to store a bass but don’t bring it to rough and ready gigs.

When you buy a guitar online, you often get only a gig bag, or just a box that it’s delivered in, so I needed a case, the cheaper the better. From some of the reviews, I expected much less than I got. True, it’s a cheap case. If someone set my practice amp or amp head on my Rickenbacker case that came with the guitar, I wouldn’t freak, though I would take it off and chastise them. If they did it to this case, they may damage the thin plywood lid and possibly the fretless Jazz bass I bought online (I’ve always wanted one). This case will be good for getting the new Jazz from place to place without exposing it to the elements. If I were still playing in a band or theatrically, I’d want a pro case, but I probably, in that case, would have bought it at a music store, paid more and have got a case in the deal .This case is gorgeous, doesn’t smell bad, though it does have a “new smell”, almost like pine. The hardware isn’t top grade, but it’s okay. I figure I’ll have to make some foam inserts that I’ll cover with a matching velour to keep the guitar from moving around, though you can see in the picture that the body can only move back and forth about a half inch. The guitar can move an inch and a quarter lengthwise, strap pin to head stock.
There was a pair of keys inside, but I cant get it to lock, yet. I never lock my case anyway, my guitars are never out of my or a trusted acquaintance’s sight if I’m say, using the john.
If you want an inexpensive, nice looking case that you won’t bang around, I like this one. 08/03/2020: I’m just re-reading this and I remember saying the lock wouldn’t lock. I did, a week or two after writing the review, get the keys to work. So, if you buy this case, just fiddle with the keys for a little while. They should work. I have never locked the case though, after screwing around with the keys and proving that they worked.

Love the latches! Thought they might be the kind with spring hasps that break or wear out easily. But they are over-latch rings which are usually more durable. Needed this case for a custom built bass that is a little too long for most gig bags or cases but this fits perfectly. I gave 4/5 stars on sturdiness only because there are probably sturdier materials that could be used in the walls without increasing the cost too much so that the case would be good for checked airline baggage. But overall and for my purposes in this price range, it’s perfect.

  10. Amazing product

This bass case was priced right and feels like it would fit a wide variety of bass styles. It fit both my stingray and p bass without issue. The case feels well balanced when a bass is inside. Mine did arrive with minor exterior damage (as shown in photos), so it may not be a case that can take a beating – hence the loss of one star. If you are looking for a case either to store a bass in at home, or for only occasionally taking out, this case would probably fit the bill well at an affordable price. It suits my needs as a case that can fit either of my basses, so I am fully satisfied with this purchase.

I bought one of these for a last minute tour not expecting much and not worried about the bass inside. It lasted a month, dozens of shows and multiple checked flights throughout the states and europe with no issue. I think it’s the best budget option that will definitely hold up beyond your expectations. I now own two. no regrets. very satisfied with these cases!

As others have reported, this is an adequate case, robust enough for local car travel and storage away from the cats in the house. Less than $80 was the attraction, but you must know you will have to alter this case padding to make sure your guitar is not damaged by the case itself, depending on the bass. I put a Yamaha TRB6P (6 string) in this case. The bass fits fine with an inch to spare at the head end, but the neck support and secret storage space elevate the neck WAY too high. When the top closes, the body and headstock are depressed downward and the supports push the neck up in the middle. Essentially bowing the neck, high in the middle. BAD BAD BAD. The fix is to do this: 1. Remove the 2 screws on the front and back that are holding the storage cover. It will lift out. (This may be enough for you, gaining 3/4 inch) The 2 screws holding the neck rest come out next, but it is glued to the black fabric, so you’ll have to cut with scissors at the base. Be careful not to break the styrofoam. 3. Peel the fabric back on one side of the styrofoam neck rest and using a short, sharp knife cut out a suitable amount of styrofoam to allow the neck to rest normally and the lid to not press hard against the strings. This might require a bit of testing back and forth for fit. For the TRB6 the storage area was better left off, but I could make it fit with a bit of effort. (see photos – takes about 15 mins) Or you could return the case – BEFORE doing this.

I was a little hesitant on getting this case and really didn’t know what to expect. I have a Squier Jazz Bass V and it fits my instrument perfectly. I have room for my cable, tuner, vox headphone amp, and could probably fit some extra stuff in there like a music book or sheet music. I used to have an SKB case back in the day and remembered that it was just styrofoam around a plastic shell with plush interior. Seemed excessive to spend twice the amount for arguably similar materials that are more than likely made in the same country.

I love the tolex wrap and it gives the case a vintage vibe. I have a gig bag, but since I got a better instrument I wanted to keep it as safe as possible. I am very careful with my equipment and expect it to last a long time. Tolex can get scuffed, as it’s a vinyl wrap. The case feels sturdy and I’m not worried about the handle or latches breaking. My bass is pretty heavy.

Overall, I would recommend anyone get this case! With gig bags being half the amount it’s a no brainer to pick one up. This is perfect for anyone that wants a quality case to keep their instrument safe.
