David Taylor –
For those of you worried about the noise people are talking about: it sounds a lot like my KitchenAid mixer.
I didn’t read the directions, just plugged it in and hit “play”. Forty minutes later… ice cream.
I paid a little over a hundred dollars for it because it was on sale. I’ve used it three times, I’m happy with my purchase, and I’d totally recommend it to a friend.
Tom B –
Very easy to assemble and use, and it works. I started with a warm mix and had gelato firm enough to eat in under 40 minutes. It’s a nice slow churn so it works really well for gelato I think.
Designed for easy cleaning. The paddle connects semi-loosely to the lid/motor assembly — that’s a feature, not a bug. If you take the lid off to check the ice cream after it’s firmed, the paddle will disconnect but that is better than stressing or breaking something. Just fit the hole back over the paddle and reconnect the lid carefully.
Obviously this machine is not designed for industrial use, so use it with care and common sense. When the mix gets stiff and the motor is working hard, it should turn off automatically but you can turn it off early and you can serve something soft, or put it in the freezer and firm it up (or put it into popsicle molds which works great)
Parmeco –
This is a great ice cream maker. Easy to use, easy to clean. Do not have to freeze a bowl in advance or add salt. Just follow simple instructions, put in the ingredients and leave alone till your homemade delight is ready to eat. We have also made sorbet with it.

The 1st one we got would not turn the paddle, but would freeze. Going by other reviews, I confirmed that I had the lid on correctly, but it wouldn’t churn. Contacted the seller. With very little fuss, they agreed to send out full replacement. New unit works like a charm! Very easy: mix basic ingredients, start the process, come back in an hour for some great, homemade ice cream. It’s a bit noisy, but not horrible. Would definitely recommend for anyone who loves homemade ice cream but doesn’t want the work or mess of traditional ice cream maker or the hassle of prefreezing a container.

I had a big and heavy Italian ice cream maker before. I bought this smaller one since I usually don’t need to make the quantities I used to. It has worked great and makes enough to have a serving and put some in the freezer for a few more small servings. It is easier to clean compared to my other one. Note: You have to make sure the lid is aligned correctly so the contact points meet in order for the paddle to turn… the lid will go on with the contact point opposite of the one on the unit, so make sure to look under the lid as you put it on.

First, this ice cream maker holds a quart, calling it 1.5 quart is stretching it a bit. Overall this works well, but the instructions are poor. You can run the beater, or the cooling individually but I’m to sure why you would.
Now, the defect, or just plain bad design. The top lid contains the beater motor, and when you fasten on top, two contacts in the top get power from the base. So far, so good. The top [part is actually two parts, the motor and a clear plastic cover. The motor clips to the clear plastic part, but not strongly. So what happens is, when making ice cream, the motor separates from the plastic cover and the contact raise and the beater motor stops. If you press down it starts again, but let go and the motor store. So after one or two uses, you have a paperweight, unless you fix it somehow.
A second problem, is the beater design doesn’t really mix semi-frozen ice cream, rather, ice cream and beaters and all just spin. No easy fix for this.
UPDATE 11/15/23 – The company responded and proposed a solution, so I’m happy now. Good customer service.
Beth Ann –
I’ve owned this unit for several weeks and put it through its paces on making homemade vanilla ice cream. It has performed flawlessly and consistently turns out a quality ice cream. My current recipe makes about 2 quarts of base so I make 2 batches at a time which it does no problem. It’s easy to use and cleanup is a breeze. I like the auto cut-off feature that puts the unit into chill mode when the motor reaches a point that it’s straining to continue mixing. Impressive.
Angela A Stanton, PhD –
It took me some time to put it together to get it working the right way. The instructions aren’t exactly useful. The mixer itself is very simple and primitive, that’s where you will find the “poor construction” applicable. It works, and all is well… but the first time you use it, it may not rotate.
