I like this product a lot. Looks nice, so far my bagels and toast have turned out perfect.

I bought this toaster as a gift for my dad for Fatherโs Day to replace his toaster that was starting to go on the fritz after a decade of daily use. The box was completely smashed up. It looked so horrible that my first thought was that it may have been returned. The box was also unsealed. It hasnโt been used from what I could tell, but I was disappointed with the presentation given that it cost $120CND. I was even more disappointed with the materials used in manufacturing. Itโs a very cheap material and half the weight of the previous toaster. I can appreciate why one reviewer stated that the toaster arrived with a dent. This material is seems โdelicateโ for a toaster! It also leaves a lot of fingerprint marks just touching it. The plastic smell which most new toasters give off was bad but dissipated after 4-5 tests of the toaster. Itโs fine. It works. The digital features are very good and clear, hence the 4-stars. Iโm questioning the quality and durability overall. If I picked this up in a store, I would likely have kept searching for a better manufactured toaster. That said, I read reviews for at least a dozen other toasters โ on Amazon, Walmart, Hudsonโs Bay, Consumer Reports โ and, frankly, it seems that this was actually one of the better ones. Weโll see. Iโve stored the box and will update this review if it needs to be returned or replaced on warranty. Just very disappointed with the lack of quality I expect from my staple kitchen brand Cruisinart!

Looks very nice on counter. Not totally even toasting but does a good job. Main thing I wanted was the top not to have extra grooves to have to clean nice smooth top makes it much easier to wipe off without using a brush or q-tip

This has to be the best toast that I have ever owned.Has options of Bread, pastry, bagel etc…Has countdown lights on the top and the self lowering button. Everything I have toasted so far has toasted perfectly

I’ll go into my experience with the toaster in a second, but first let me explain why we got this toaster. For the past 5-7 years we’ve had a Kitchen Aid motorized toaster (no levers on the machine, you just pushed what range of toast you wanted and the machine took the toast in and lowered it down – I think I bought it on QVC for something in the price range of $80-100). It was a substantial toaster (weight-wise) with digital buttons to put the toast down, had wide slots like we like (4-slice toaster) and did also make a beeping sound when the toast came up (but nothing as loud as the beeping on this machine). The toaster had a good variety of toasting variations, my husband and I always found Level 3 to be the perfect range of toasting for our tastes. We loved that toaster but it bit the dust a few weeks ago. As soon as it went buh-bye, I jumped onto QVC and Amazon to find something similar (which I cannot seem to find, ugh!).
After some research, I decided trying a toaster oven… which was soon returned a couple of weeks later (just too big on my counter top) – but one thing I noticed about the toaster oven is that if you cooked on a 3 or higher, your items came out burnt. I’m not sure if all toaster ovens are like that, but clearly we learned to toast everything on a 2. Like I said, we wound up returning it because of the size.
Back to Amazon I went, really looking over and over at toasters. I finally debated between getting this toaster and the Cuisinart CPT-440. I usually only buy a few certain name brands for my kitchen items and appliances Cuisinart is one of those brands and I’m usually very pleased with them. Because I’d recently spent a lot of money out of pocket for a family situation, I thought I would get this lower-priced toaster. The toaster just got to my house yesterday and I was pleased this morning to have an English muffin for breakfast. One thing we noticed when we removed the toaster from the box was how extremely light it is. I looked at my husband and said “Well, I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing”. I put the toaster down onto the kitchen counter and it just seemed to me that with the materials used and the light weight of the toaster that there just wasn’t much to it. Again, that could be a good thing, or a bad thing… and maybe our last toaster was much heavier because it had a motor in it (?)
We put our English muffins in on 2, not sure how light/dark this toaster would toast. I would agree with another reviewer that when I toast my items, I really want them toasted; I don’t care for a “barely there” kind of toast. At a 2, I will tell you the top of the English muffin (faced to the inside of the toaster) came out lightly toasted and the outside of the muffin seemed soft, almost not to be toasted at all. That’s not my personal preference for toasted items, but it could be for others, surely. Mental note that going forward I’d probably toast at a 3, if I was going to keep this toaster. Another thing we noticed was how LOUD the beeps were when the toasted items are ready. Holy cow, that’s no joke. Luckily all 3 of us were awake in the house, haha, otherwise you could wake people up with that. Again, it’s just a little “something” we noticed. Lastly, (and this is the thing that irks me the most) we noticed that when the muffins were done, they were not raised high enough that we could grab them quickly and smear whatever we wanted all over them. Yes, the description above does specifically state that the levers have a function which lets you manually raise it higher for items if they don’t clear the top of the toaster. And yes, I did read that before I bought the toaster, and I do remember specifically thinking “well that seems silly, why doesn’t it just automatically raise itself higher so you don’t have to use that lever at all” (which is what I was used to with my Kitchen Aid – and I think I just assumed that all toasters were like that). Shame on me, should’ve listened to that inner pickiness in me, I guess ๐ My husband was holding our son on his one hip, so one hand was tied up – therefore he couldn’t get the muffin out because he’d need one hand to raise the lever up higher and then use the other hand to pull the muffin out. I was standing right there and removed the muffin for him. Okay, okay, some of you might be rolling your eyes at me, but I’ll tell you that with a little one at home, being able to do things one-handed sometimes can make a huge difference between a little task and a larger task ๐
All in all, the toaster does indeed toast, that’s why I gave it 3 stars. On the other hand, I didn’t find anything about the toaster to be fantastic; quite the contrary, I found these little things to be kind of a pain, so that’s why I ONLY gave it 3 stars. Maybe if it was just the loud beeps, or just the barely there feel of the toaster, I wouldn’t be sending it back. But all of these little things together didn’t lead me to believe this was the toaster for our fast-paced family. Back to the drawing board I go — this time I’ll be sure to get another motorized toaster (which means more $), either Kitchen Aid or Cuisinart (I think I only see Cuisinart motorized toasters on Amazon). Cuisinart is a great brand, solid in most things, and this toaster by no means sways me from purchasing the brand again. I’m just going to make sure that this time around I hone in more on that motorized feature, even if it costs me more. Let’s hope that like the Kitchen Aid toaster we had before, the difference in price will guarantee a rock star of a toaster!

First, what I do not like is this beep it makes when it is plugged in as it is very loud. My wife wants it stored away when not in use, so I hear that beep every time I need to use it. Otherwise, it works very well.

This toaster arrived with the wrong electrical plug and the guarantee was only valid in the USA.

All I ask of a toaster is this: lower my bread into the slot, heat it until it’s the golden color I chose, then send it back up. Don’t make me pop it up and down multiple times to see if it’s burning, or not cooking, don’t make me flip it around to toast the other side. And could you please do the same thing the next day? This toaster actually does its job. It’s FABULOUS.
2 people in the house. Both like a different shade of toast. We don’t use big or fat bread – just basic, artisan sized grain bread. This toaster has some perfect features to accommodate for most anything – my favorites: 1. Memory feature: his and hers for us. 2. Quick View button: is my toast burning or not cooking? One touch of the button for a peek without resetting the timer. 3. +30 second button: okay, wish my toast was a tiny bit browner, but I don’t want to burn it – this is your go-to feature.
On top of that, mechanical lower and raising of the bread – quiet and zen-like – not a fan of slamming the levers.
And did I say it actually toasts my bread on both sides!!! Thank you.
(My toast is more golden that it looks in the photo’s – it’s a tan/brown color bread).
Let me also say this: it’s a crapshoot whether the heating coil cards on any toaster come out of the factory working like they should. They all use the same parts made at the same place using the same lower quality components than what we had in our life before. If you can find a toaster that does its job, looks like you want and fits your budget – it’s a good thing.
No, it’s doesn’t make the buzzing sound some mentioned in reviews. If you use super thick, super long bread, this isn’t for you – find a toaster that’s made for that. (Don’t try jamming oversized bread in – yes, you will ruin the mechanical raise/lower feature). The cord length is just right. If you’re toasting 1 slice – use the 1 Slice button – it’s made to adjust the heat for just one slice (doesn’t matter which side). It actually comes with a paper instruction guide – read it.
This was our third and final attempt at finding a replacement toaster. For us it’s perfect. PS – all of my family and friends that have a Duolit happen to have them all on the blink right now ๐ Even the “premier” of toasters fail.

I made a research on consumer reports and also on “protegez-vous” on the best models for the money. This one didn’t come first but I choosed it for reliability. Up to now, it works as expected.

We keep the digital toasting numbers on 3. One side of the bread is toasted perfectly while the other side is toasted but lacking color – still white. Doesn’t matter – the toast is good and the toaster is really quite nice looking so I would absolutely recommend it.

Can someone tell me why would a seller associated with Amazon UK, sell electrical devices that are meant for the US market? I bought this unit from this seller and I received the toaster with American plug. Did not think much of this issue and connected it to the plug using an adapter and the toaster started smoking, basically going on fire. I hurriedly switch off the device and wrote back to the seller about the issue and never got a response. Avoid at all costs. By the way all Amazon did was to suggest to send the unit back with original packaging ๐๐.
