Wow – this is really a bad design. Hard to imagine more mistakes from an otherwise good company. Here are the issues
a) you cannot unplug the RJ45 connector – the ejector is on the wrong side. Not once, twice – both RJ45 are impossible to remove once the device is installed on a wall. See the photo
b) no technical information of any kind
c) it claims “Up to 30W output” – but it is actually only 24 watts output max
d) multiple mistakes on the ‘specs’ on the back of the device, which is good because you cannot read them after mounting to the wall
e) oh, when you screw it to the plywood – the slots for the screws are long and are bent by any screw
f) the description has the connector sizes wrong – the connector options are 2.1×5.5mm, 1.35×3.5mm
OK – now the details, if you can get past the RJ45 problem, and want to use this anyway, here is what we found out by testing
a) the device is 802.3at and 802.3af compatible – so it works with all PoE switches or passive injectors
b) it accepts 42-56 volts input, mode A or mode B, either polarity
c) if you use an 802.3af switch, then DO NOT load the output with more than 12 watts – it will shut down.
d) if you use passive or 802.3at switches – then you can go to 12.5/18/24 watts with the 5/9/12 volt output
e) regulation is very good – better than 1%
f) the efficiency is not good – 24 watts out requires 28 watts in (1 ft cables) so only 86% efficient
g) the label says that the 2.1mm connector is input – no, it is the output voltage of 5, 9 or 12 volts

Ubiquiti did not have the adapter needed for their WiFi 6 Pro Access Point in stock, so I ordered this one and it works.

AWESOOOOME!!!

The gigabit power/network splitter works pretty well. There is not much to say. It has a little green light when it is on. It does get slightly warm. It has 3 voltages settings. Seems like nice construction.
The 12 volts coming out is 12.02 volts. For my needs i wish it was 12.3V or so but 12 volts is 12 volts I guess.
Me –
Overall a nice POE splitter if you need to something that you can set to either 5, 9 or 12 V. I like it for testing due to the versatility. Just a few comments…
– As many noted, the tab to release the RJ45 is not easy to press. If you plan on plugging/unplugging a lot it could be an issue (or add a few couplers)
– It would also be nice it the unit was more compact
– Ignore the 30W notes; for output power its 12v 2A (24W), 9V@2A (18W), or [email protected] (12.5W)
– The barrel adapter plug is nice because you can swap out the included barrel connector wire with anything you want like micro USB.
Jason Goodman –
Works great with remote cameras
C. Federico –
Works perfectly, all wires included

Worked exactly as I had hoped. Be sure to check your devices specs to ensure enough power.
Placement/alignment of the ethernet connecter is poor. But once I set it up fully, I have not had to remove it so it’s manageable.
Matt B –
To my knowledge, this is the only TRUE gigabit PoE splitter available on Amazon with this form factor. I use it for my ODroid N2. Basic needs were gigabit Ethernet, DC barrel jack that can plug straight in to the N2 and this unit delivers.
I’m giving the unit 4 starts instead of 5 for a couple reasons:
– As another reviewer pointed out, the design has some flaws. Both the in and the out Ethernet interfaces have the release tabs pointing away from what you’d be looking at if this were wall-mounted. Not wall-mounting? Well it’s still a little bit of poor design because just getting your finger in there to release the Ethernet cable is more difficult than it should be
– No universal tip option. Not sure if this is a design you’d have to pay to use, but it would’ve been nice to have a universal cable and I could switch out the tips depending on the project I’d need it for.
