This viola is beautiful! I didn’t want to write a review until I had my viola teacher look at it. She recognized right off that it is a well made, quality instrument. I’m relieved I bought the right size. For me 15 inches works great. I’m 5′ 4 with short arms.
Additionally, the case it comes in is really nice. It comes with two bows, and there are places for two more bows if you need four. Not sure why you’d need that many, but you can have four in this case. The inside molds around the viola. There is a compartment that contains the rosin and a gorgeous shoulder rest. The shoulder rest is also made of wood and polished. It took me a bit to find just the right place to hold the viola, but that is my lack of experience and has nothing to do with the instrument itself.
I’m very happy with my viola, and now it is up to me to learn to play it! I have a great teacher, who I found on takelessons.com. You type in your zip code and what kind of lessons you want, and it will locate teachers in your area.

For the price it should have 4 fine tuners instead of one, but we will make it work. Also the way the case is designed puts too much pressure on the bridge. The one we bought was a warehouse deal at $345, because someone returned it when they received it and the bridge was knocked off. You can see and feel where the bridge has marked the case, so I’m sure that something was sat on the case to create too much pressure knocking the bridge off. It was a steal for us, as long as the case doesn’t become a problem for my daughter who it was bought for. We just had to put it back in place and tune it. It took much longer to tune the strings that do not have the fine tuner on it.
