Nate –
This is a rebranded Helicore medium tension string and is usually marginally cheaper than Helicore. I particularly like the A and D string with spirocore tungsten G and C. It is one of very few rope core A and D strings on the market and is superior to Spirocore and Superflexible A and D (better tonal depth, less metallic, better damping, but still long decay).

Prompte Lieferung, bin mit den Saiten zufrieden. Vielen Dank

In August of 2011, I decided to change my electric bass strings to electric cello on my Ibanez SR1300 custom electric bass since my playing style is sometimes more melodic in sections that the bass register would muddy somewhat and an electric guitar doesn’t feel right in my hands like it is too fragile with a short neck. So, I restrung my bass-cello after using some other electric cello brand and love performing with these superior electric cello strings on my bass in concert with my industrial jazz unit here in the SFBA and on tour.
Yes, I would like to professionally endorse this quality product in 2014!

excellent strings, resonant sweet intonation, thanks!

Made a big difference on tone quality and feel. I used these on my Jensen electric cello.

I’ve been buying these strings for my electric cello for years. They are excellent strings, but they are exactly the same as a set of medium Helicore cello strings. Same core material, same wrap material and also same tension. The D’Addario website says they were developed in conjunction with Ned Steinberger, and even makes it seem like they are specifically made for electric instruments, yet they sell the same string in a different package and marketed for acoustic cellos but for more money ($15 more). I’m wondering what benefit they see to marketing the same string in two different ways. I think that’s a questionable business practice and takes advantage of the “not so astute” buyer. They are cheaper than Helicores, so I keep buying them, but they are exactly the same strings.

I have a 5 string NS cello and I removed the low F, moved all the strings over and put on the high E. Now I can really soar with the electric guitars!

My daughter used it on her electronic cello and it sounded terrific. She liked it much more than her her previous strings. In my ear it also sounded much refined. A bit pricey for an advanced student but worth the cost.

I was so hopeful this would work out. I played in a fairly large Orchestra in high school and played in the youth symphony as well. We were always required to change any strings that were broken and do our own work to our cellos. This was installed properly and still snapped. I played about three bars before it snapped. The sound that I got was very tinny sounding. I would not recommend the E string at the very least. I wish I would have read the reviews I may have not gotten it in the first place. $26 for one string….
Dianne Springfield –
A great improvement over the plain E on my CR6, IMO. Yes, it is bright, but I feel the timbre fits better with the other strings now. Tension is appropriate for the other strings, to me. Very happy.
DISCLAIMER: I tune down a whole step, so maybe mine is a bit less bright than on than other reviewers’ instruments.

Works just fine on my classical cello.

Similar to Helicore strings
