Updated review, Spr ’20: most reviews discuss initial experience – good, bad or otherwise. A bad initial experience needs no further info. But what about reviews that start well – did the product stand up to the test of time?
Heaters, no matter the type, seem to be problematic in the long term. And so on that note, I wanted to re-visit my review 2 years later.
Both DeLonghi heaters continue to be great. Each is used daily, with the older of the 2 getting about 10x the use.
The heat is consistent; fan is reasonable; construction is solid.
These are workhorses!
Original review: This is the 2nd HSX3315FTS that I purchased. The 1st was from early 2018 when weather took a severe plunge in St Louis. This was the only unit that kept a very cold room warm and me comfortable. The unit is quiet (silent like an oil-filled heater) when keeping the room a stable temp. But when needed, a fan setting is possible to push the air faster. This is ideal while days are still warm, but the space needs some help after a cool night.
After success of 1st unit, no qualms about purchasing the 2nd unit, although will not use in such a cold space.
Bottom line: quiet stable heat all the time; additional fan for booster.

The De’Longhi brand is really high quality and excellent. This makes 6 of these that I have purchased for myself and others. The fan is quiet, the unit heats efficiently, and it can be set to turn on and off automatically. Also, you can stand it on its feet or hang it on the wall. If this gets tipped over, it shuts off automatically. If there is a power surge or if the wall socket overheats, this shuts off automatically. The outside gets hot, but not hot enough to burn with s simple touch. Great workmanship.

Love this heater. It produces a soft, stream of warm air from the top . The sides become warm to hot but not so hot that a brief touch causes a blister or burn. We use the heater for part of our old Southern house not ever built for ice, snow and a week of lows around zero with highs in the teens.

The heater just leaves something to be desired in it’s most important feature….giving off heat. I have several heaters similar to this one (one is a box circulating heater and the other an oil filled heater) and it is so apparent the despite this one claiming more output, it doesn’t outperform the other older heaters. I will keep but likely for use in a much smaller room than intended but honestly wish I still had the box to send back. UPDATE: Been quite a few months and wanted to revisit to see if anything changed. Nope..just a horrible heater and given it’s price drop from 130 to 86, the whole deal was probably my worst in a few years. In contrast, I got one of those box heaters (amish style) and it just outperforms this thing in every way. Even when this thing is on full blast….pulling a lot more power than it should….you literally have to put your hand almost on it to feel the heat. This one is going in the trash or to an enemy if I make one.

This unit works really great so far. The side that attaches to the wall gets quite hot so we put ours freestanding on the floor. I’ll update this review if my opinion changes when the weather gets really cold. In the meantime, be aware that this unit makes a whining or ringing noise (not sure how to describe it) that is annoying, so I only gave it 3 stars for that reason. Still going to try and use it.

This heater is very efficient especially in locations where you want heat quickly.
The timer function allows you have the heater turn on and off multiple times a day in 30 minute increments. This is especially useful if you want heat in the morning and evening but don’t need it in the middle of the night or mid day.
The fan is quiet and it works equally well on the wall or free standing.
I was going to mark down for not having wheels, but this is extremely light and moving it doesn’t require them.
The fan is a huge advantage over a straight radiator. It lets the room heat up faster but also lets you warm up by the heater with out being right on top of it.

The only complaint that I have about it is the fact that the dial knobs are one color and do NOT have color markings on the arrows to show what you are selecting.
I keep telling myself that I’m going to paint the markings…but haven’t gotten around to it yet.

I love this heater. I use it on its stand (not wall mounted). It quickly heats up my poorly insulated space of around 500 sq ft. At first, I thought it didn’t work because I kept turning on the TIMER (which causes it to turn off until the timer says). It is not too hot to the touch but does get quite warm. It feels safe to use around my little dogs and kids. I like the heat comes out the top and not the front (less of a fire hazard in my house). I’ve been using it since 2021, and have been using it consistently every day for quite a few months now with no problems. If you need a heater that is easy to move and heats well, this is your guy.
