This throw off is better than I expected for the price. It’s got some heft to it and doesn’t seem cheap. The finish looks nice. It comes with everything you need including the butt plate. One feature I really liked is that the screws do not require any special tools…… only your drum key is needed!!

It was better than expected. The spring for the throw off was not great but does the job. The mounting holes on the throw were slightly off which was very annoying. Mounting for other side did not match up at all. Before buying I search for dimensions with no luck. It’s a gamble, you could get lucky.

This is a very attractive and well-made machine. It seems to be sturdy and of high quality. The drawback is in the listing, which provides no clue as to the screw spacing for attaching to your drum. It’s probably in the text, but you and I both know that no one reads listings. Given its price, it would be great for DIY projects. Given its size, it would also be good for a piccolo snare. (Actually, I just read the text and it says nothing about attaching. No pic either.)

I picked this up to control the tension on a set of snare wires that will be inside a cajon. I make guitars and cajons and wanted to try a snare tensioner to see if it would be enough to turn the snare effect “on” and “off”.
With all tests I’ve done it seems to perform well. I can’t talk about it working with an actual snare drum, but I can say it does tighten and loosen the snare wires, and it is a pretty smooth switch.
