Better quality than an actual Bach 4G, with an appropriately deep 26mm diameter cup and extra mass to aid in projection and focus. My calipers show the cup diameter is correct at ~26mm on the Faxx 4G. A personal favorite in my collection of large bore/large cup diameter trombone mouthpieces. I prefer it to most other mouthpieces I have in this size range that retail for 3-4 times the cost. Plays and sounds superb! This one is a winner!

This is an excellent mouthpiece that a very excellent price. I’ve been playing on a Bach 5G for years, which has served me well playing in Collegiate ensembles and gigging with professional groups in my area. The plating has worn off of my Bach. I decided to try the Faxx as an inexpensive replacement for my Bach. The 4G I purchased has incredible bite across the full range of my instrument. I am incredibly impressed at this point. If you are looking for an excellent mouthpiece at an impressive price point, you need look no farther.

Please see my review of the Faxx 6 1/2 AL Faxx Bass Trombone 65al With Long Shank. Pretty much everything applies for this size as well, including the fact that these are mislabeled – The 4G is not really a “bass trombone mouthpiece” but a fairly large tenor trombone mouthpiece (though there may be some tenor-to-bass doublers using the 4G on bass), and it has not a “long shank” but a large shank.
