This filament has proven to be of exceptional quality and has yielded outstanding results. Although my supply is nearly depleted, I must emphasize its remarkable usability and effectiveness.

I had never tried marble filament before, but I knew it had been around for a while. This filament prints just as well as any other I’ve used. I printed with it on my X1C, and the quality is outstanding. There are no common defects like stringing, adhesion issues, or cracks. The prints come out with excellent precision and high quality from every angle. I used it to print some boxes, and they fit together perfectly. The color looks amazing and matches the photos well—it’s mostly white with a slight gray tint. The spots resemble real marble, with a uniform size and distribution on every object. The texture is matted with no shine. You can feel the matted texture on it. The filament is neatly wound on plastic spools, which makes it roll smoothly on the AMS.

PLA these days has become very good from most manufacturers and the Flashforge Rapid PLA is no exception. I found it easy to print with even when printing at higher speeds with the Bambu P1S. Layer stacking and adhesion was very good as was bed adhesion. I didn’t find a need for any special settings even at higher speeds, just raise the nozzle temperature for high-speed printing to around 235 and it just runs. I am using the standard 0.4mm nozzle and I was a little concerned that whatever is added for the marbling might cause clogs, but I have not had any problems with that at all.
The quality of the filament is great with a dimensional accuracy claimed to be +/- 0.02mm which I found to be accurate anywhere I checked it with a digital micrometer. The spool is wound evenly, and I didn’t experience any tangles during any of the prints I ran, and I didn’t find it necessary to dry the filament before use. Overall, I think the Flashforge Rapid PLA is another great PLA filament and I love the look of the light marble effect. I also like that a quality plastic spool is used with multiple retention holes around the perimeter and not a flimsy cardboard spool as so many are using these days. If I have any concern at all it would be the price, which is at the higher end for PLA. With that said, I do think it is some of the best PLA I have used, and I will definitely consider it for future projects.

Functionally, this PLA prints well. It worked just fine using normal “generic PLA” settings in Creality Print 5 on my Ender 3 V3. Adhesion was fine and there was no stringing. The only defect on the prints I made were either my own fault or problems with the model.
Aesthetically, the color is a whitish-gray(and I see a tinge of blue), with flecks of gray to give the speckled appearance. You’re not going to get details of real marble, like large veins of color across your prints, but it definitely helps give some texture and character to your prints. I can see this PLA used to make interesting miniatures or chess pieces, etc.

I love marbled colored filament. So far this stuff is printing pretty well for me. Whenever i get new filament I do a test print or two to see how it’s going to print and if i need to dial in some settings to work with it. Stock prusa slicer settings are always my default and i use the same code each time. On my test print there is this one little spot where it didn’t quite make the outside radius but aside from that it passed and for the other items I had no issues. The spool was sealed well with a hard vacuum and the filament is rolled neatly. Overall I’m happy with this filament and looking forward to printing a couple dice towers and statues with it.

Out of 100 spools of filament on my shelves, I had yet to own a marble filament and was anxious to try it out. FLASHFORGE is well known in 3D printing circles, so I expected a quality filament, and was not disappointed.
I printed a benchy in this black marble with my Bambu Lab X1 Carbon with AMS. I used the Generic High Speed PLA (18 mm3/s) filament profile in Bambu Studio. Print quality was great, with no noticeable clogs, blobs, or stringing. I expect I could bump this to 21 or 22 mm3/s and it would print fine. The label on the box advises a slightly higher temperature range for high speed printing. Also note that marble filament is abrasive so printing with a hardened steel nozzle is advised.
The filament was delivered with vacuum seal intact, with no noticeable moisture present. Also a bonus is the plastic spool, at least for AMS users. Cardboard spools aren’t recommended for use with the AMS without using adapters or tape, so it’s nice not to have to mod the spool first. My AMS did struggle to load the filament initially. I had to pull it back out and re-feed it, and then it worked fine. So may have just been a slight jam which happens sometimes.
If I had to nitpick anything it wouldn’t be with the filament itself, but its box. I like to keep my filaments in their original boxes (if they come in a box) when not being used. Up until now all of my boxes opened up horizontally along the square side. This box opens vertically along the narrow side, which makes the filament and its bag just a little less convenient to insert and remove. I saw this with some other PLA I just reviewed, which I thought odd since that seems to be a less common approach with filament makers.
