Overall, I am pleased with this scanner. The screen (while kind of small) is crisp and clear. The touch function works well and is spot on most times. The side grips make it easy to hold on to and seem like they would protect it well from drops.
If there was one thing, I would consider next time it would be screen size. I find a larger screen is easier to navigate as well as see. This could also be my eyes getting old. I would pay a little more for a larger screen but this scanner is priced right where this size screen scanners are priced.
This is a good solid 5 STAR scanner based on price and functions in my opinion.

I have owned a few Foxwell scan tools over the years, I’ve always found them to be a good value for the price.

I was intrigued when I saw they were offering this unit specifically designed for Ford products. I have an ’09 Escape Hybrid and a close friend has an ’08 with the 3.0L engine, so I’m doing a lot of scanning of Ford products.

The Foxwell is solidly built with a 5.5″ touchscreen and comes in a nice storage case. Lifetime free updates is a HUGE bonus considering the prices some scan tools are charging for updates…I’ve seen as high as $500/year. This scan tool is also bidirectional offering you the ability to do far more in terms of commanding tests.

The auto VIN detect feature works well and the scanning features are relatively quick.

I’d like to see Foxwell’s engineers add some more functionality as to the hybrid/HVTB systems in the Escapes. For example, unless I’m missing something, I can’t command an HVTB rebalance with the NT710 as I can with other scan tools.

Foxwell has another excellent scan tool here. Offering bidirectional control with lifetime free updates is not common. Being able to add other makes for $70 is also a great deal.

Works with the Ford-f53 motor home chassis. This is a money saver get your codes and know whats needs to be fixed. The shop wanted me to pay 3000.00 for repairs turned out to be plug wires 89.00 + 200.00 for mobile mechanic to install.

Works great and being able to do some of your own tuning means I save money not going to the tuners.

Seems like everything Foxwell makes. It’s really good. I’ve never bought one of the tools that I don’t like they all function well, are built well and do the job that they are made for with Precision.

This NT710 is no exception to that. It is built really well and solid to the point that it could take a beating and function without any issue. I know because my buddy came over to check out when you to first thing he did was Butterfinger it and drop it on the ground.

Thankfully, it was just fine and got nothing but a little scuff on the corner. I was nonetheless very unhappy. And even though when I turned it on, it fired up with no problem I plugged it in scanned the car had no issues, I still played out a little bit made made him feel bad. But after just a few minutes of badgering him and guilt tripping him, it was all good and back to fun and games, unless he drops it again then it gets serious.

This scanner is like every other Foxwell scanner. It is just amazing. Scans all systems and has very detailed information it provides. Does real time stream of vehicle data and communicates with all components.

Is that wireless capabilities and you can upgrade the device over wireless. It comes with its own carrying case which Keeps all the parts cables together and more importantly the carrying case protects it from damage. It keeps it safe from everything except my buddy of course.

A little plug for my pal, yeah the one who dropped it. In the spirit of full disclosure, I have to admit that it’s partly my fault that he dropped it, because before I even handed it to him, I made it clear how important it was to me. I made it sound like it was world’s most priceless and most fragile item ever. Then what happened? He goes and drops it. Too bad he doesn’t work well under pressure.

If you were here, you would’ve seen my hand slapping my forehead while my head is shaking in disappointment and frustration.
You also would’ve seen a little bit of a snicker from me as my buddy took a dive to the cement like a Super Bowl receiver jumping into the endzone. It’s a good thing neither of them got hurt. Especially my scanner. Lol

What I’m trying to tell you by pontificating like this, is that this scanner and all Foxwell devices I’ve ever had are just that robust. Built with good materials and are strong. It’s not the first of my scanners it’s been dropped and I’m honest about it. It’s been in the past. When you’re quickly moving around vehicles things happen these are such good scanners accurate and I love them.

    I highly recommend Foxwell scanners

I’m a bit of a technophobe and I had this for months before I actually attempted to use it. But I really had nothing to be intimidated by. This is super easy to use and gives surprisingly detailed and accurate analysis of computer issues. My 2011 Ford Flex has leaks in the sun roof that cause the computer to malfunction. I had it fixed once (to the tune of $4,000) but when it happened again, I opted to utilize workarounds instead.

The buttons on my panel that operate the climate and radio are completely dead, so I use a combination of the touchscreen and the steering wheel controls. When I plugged the Foxwell in and ran a general diagnostic, it quickly enumerated every detail of what was wrong with the panel. It mentioned just about every button that didn’t work. I was shocked and impressed.

Of course, it didn’t tell me anything I didn’t know, but it works just great.
