The girls enjoyed meeting goals on this watch. They quickly learned how to navigate the menus and buttons. They also loved playing the games on the Garmin jr. App. My only issue was that I needed a smaller band for my daughter and couldnโt find one so it was a little loose. A plus is that the battery lasts a whole year before it needs replacing.

I was looking for a watch that doesn’t have a ton of games on the watch for my daughter. She wanted to track her steps and sleep but didn’t want to get in trouble like some of her friends at school (who have the ability to play “games” on thier watch). My daughter and I picked out this watch and it has been everything she wanted! She loves the color, the personalization options, and the fit. She can wear this all day without complaint and says the material is comfy. I love the corresponding app, too! On the app, chores and goals can be set and it will sync to the child’s watch. We loved this watch so much that we also bought my son the star wars one! In my opinion, this is the best children’s watch.

My daughter has the Disney version of this (7 yo, purchased when she was 5-6 yo) and loves it. We love the step and activity tracking, but the chore function is also great! Definitely helps her be aware of her daily chores and routines. You can points for doing the chores and then craft rewards that can be “redeemed” through the app. We ended up buying this version for her cousin (9 yo) and she also loves it. Beware that to use the full functionality the kid and parent will both need to access the app on the phone daily or multiple times a day.

We actually bought this for our 7 year old as a potty watch (long story). All the watches we were finding didnโt have the option for multiple alarms, but this one does. We set an alarm every 2 hours and it works great. Thereโs also alarms for bedtime, chores, etc. itโs cute and comfortable as well. Itโs a bit expensive for a kids watch, but it was worth it to us. It has held up great, especially considering she has broken watches in the past. My only complaint is the app, itโs supposed to track her sleep and steps, but it doesnโt. We synced it to my phone and everything. It just wonโt stay synced, but thatโs okay. We didnโt buy it for those reasons anyways.

Love it, you can add your name on watch, change watch face, games, interactive on your phone. My girls 8 and 10 love it! You can do chores and rewards great for rewarding good behaviour with gold coin points. Thanks Santa for getting this, also love you can change the watch band colour if you get other bands. Best kids watch, wish I had it when I was a kid.

The activity tracking part of this watch worked well. I enjoyed the chore tracking. However, the face of the watch was very dark and there was not an option to turn up the illumination. Also, about a month into wearing it, the watch started leaving what looks like a burn on her skin under the face of the watch. We switched wrists and it did the same thing. Most recently the entire band started irritating her wrist. We did all of the things to ensure the watch was clean and dry, but to no avail. Very frustrating

My 8yr old girl loved getting this as a gift. It has definitely made her more excited about being active whereas she used to just want to play in her room all day. She actually said โLetโs go farther so I can get more stepsโ on a walk we took the other day. The active minutes is another helpful metric for her to try to hit. This watch uses gamification to establish healthy habits in kids. Incidentally, it is also a great way to build math skills. Just having them read off the steps in the thousands and ten thousands is great practice. Weโve also had convos like โHow many more minutes do you have to move until you reach your goal of 60 min?โ
Three observations:
1) it is a little hard to read indoors, but not too bad.
2)I had issues syncing it after I set it up. Garminโs support forums and pages helped me solve that.
3)I havenโt dug into the chores and rewards yet, but that could help with incentivizing in other areas too.
I am actually going to buy another one for her older brother who is wanting to track activity and earn rewards. There is an option to allow profiles to go head to head but I havenโt decided if that will inspire or discourage, but it could be fun depending on how your kids are wired.
