This case fits a trombone with a section for the slide piece. It has extra storage and is very lightweight. The price is competitive with other soft cases.

Just received this cool case for my alto 🎷. The delivery is fast. Only 8 days. Thank you Amazon. The case is in good shape, quite sturdy. It comes with sling. The only lowdown is the neck mold is quite loose. Anyhow, good Gator case made in China.

Needed a replacement clarinet case for my daughter’s Bb clarinet. She uses it for two different clarinets depending on the ‘season’: her wood Buffet Crampon for concert band and Yamaha ABS plastic for marching band. Both fit well in this case and after 3 months of near-daily use, I can say that it is holding up fine and doesn’t look worn at all.

She really likes the pockets and strap on this case. Typically she is carrying a huge backpack to/from school so the strap allows her to free up a hand and the pockets allow her to stash away her phone, cash, and other small items during band camp. All things considered, this is a good beginner case that is solidly built.

Don’t let the “beginner” description in the listing put you off. This is a GREAT little trumpet case.

Would I put it under a plane? No. That’s why I have Torpedo cases, and flight cases to wrap around those.

Would I put it in the overhead? Yes. Would I carry it locally on a one-horn gig? Also yes. No qualms whatsoever about that.

It comes with a shoulder strap. It also has backpack straps! And finally, you could use the carry handle. So, for load in, you’ve got just about every option to cut down on trips to the car.

There’s a 9″ x 15″ front pouch, which is big enough to hold a gig’s worth of paper charts, printed up on standard copy paper. There are two mouthpiece “holes” and the case will clamp down on them more than sufficiently to prevent them from flying around the inside of the case. I tested this by putting mouthpieces in the holes (no horn) and shaking the living snot out of it for a solid minute. The mouthpieces are definitely staying put.

There are also two little storage compartments on the handle side of the horn cradle. One is about an inch wide, one flares out a little wider. You can make them out in the photos, but it was hard to gauge the depth, so I thought I would fill in that blank. Think valve oil, a microfiber towel, etc. for those. They’re not nearly big enough for a mute. Maybe a Crown Royal bag if you’re an old school player who knows what that’s used for.

As far the range of horns it will hold, I put my Benge MLP in it, and that fit just fine. Amazingly, I was also able to fit my Connstellation into it, which has a far wider wrap and a big honking bell.

This leads me to my one very slight criticism of this bag. The bell rim is slightly less protected than I’d like, because the horn tray section could be ever so slightly deeper. But, just to be clear, it zipped up easily with the Connstellation in it. If you have a bell bigger than that, then maybe this isn’t your case. But even in modern terms, the Connstellation has a humongous bell. So–with the aforementioned caveat that this isn’t a flight case and should not be considered one–a LOT of horns will fit in this thing just fine if you’re just moving from one place to another locally.

For the price, you’re getting decent protection and a lightweight, good looking case. Even with my minor quibble it doesn’t rise to the level of docking a star. Recommended for anyone needing a decent value priced case.

Another beautiful case from gator – perfect for my saxophone and for on the go gigs. No concerns about the safety of my sax while it’s in there. Plenty of space to store what I’d need and at a great price.

Bought this for our 10-year-old son to replace the nearly 40-year-old case for the sax he had inherited. Compared to the typical hard case that school instruments seem to come with, this has everything. It’s much more lightweight, yet offers the same protection as a hard case as best as I can tell. It has a rigid shell inside the fabric exterior, and the softness of the outside seems like it will make bumping incidents more forgiving. I must have dented so many walls with my hard case when I was a kid.

It still has the typical interior corner compartment for accessories like reeds, cleaning stuff, etc., but it also has an exterior pocket for flat items (such as sheet music, if you fold it. Sadly, not big enough for full sized book though).

The killer feature(s) is the shoulder strap and back pack straps. If your kid is going to school, they are going to carry this thing along with other stuff. These options mean this case can be carried hands-free, which allows them to handle other stuff as needed.

Another thing I wish it had, is a name tag holder pouch. There wasn’t really a great place to tag it, I ended up making something that I could zip tie to one of the handles but would prefer something more low profile.

The price was fair. I am cheap when it comes to cases, and was initially hoping to find something for $40-$50. But after buying this a bit begrudgingly, I have to admit this thing is worth the money, no question.

In all, I’d give this thing 4.5 stars, but I rounded up for the Amazon review scale, which only handles integers. If there is a better soft case option for alto saxophone out there, I couldn’t find it.

We got this case to replace the case for my husband’s Bundy alto sax so my daughter could use it for school. The sax fit perfectly and the case is very light weight. My daughter likes it too. The pocket is great for music books.
