Bought April 2016. Stopped heating Sept 2019, $123 repair. Stopped heating again Dec. 2019. My earlier GE drier worked 38 years!

shipped fast, but was broken, had to wait 2 weeks to get it fixed. otherwise, good deal

Is is an amazing dryer. Works wonderfully. Rubber on door won’t last, which is a bummer

This drier leaves grease marks on my clothes. I’ve had it repaired three times. The last time they put new parts in it and the problem is worse than ever. The warranty is up and they won’t help me now.

I received this unit two hours ago and am really regretting this purchase. After the install guys left, I reached behind the dryer to check that the air discharge duct was properly attached and received a strong electrical shock when I touched the unpainted metal on the back. I put a multi meter between the casing and a common ground and measured 122 volts passing through the case.
This is an incredibly dangerous production error, and could easily have resulted in fatality if my body had been grounded (this is in a laundry room with water and plumbing), I would have had the current pass through me with no GFI protection. The dryer plugs into a 220-volt outlet on a 30-amp breaker.
I am completely stunned that GE would allow this to happen to a major $600 appliance. To add insult to injury, I am now being told that GE won’t send a tech out to look at the issue for another 5 days. I have a family of four – we generate a ton of laundry, and I have a wet load in the washer as I type this.
The fact that this dangerous situation occurred is one thing. I get that errors happen regardless of best efforts to prevent them. GE’s handling of the situation is unforgivable. They obviously don’t care about the customer once the sale is made.

I want to like it. I researched and studied before buying it. It gets clothes dry, as it should. It also has this piece of wire that lays against the side that likes to catch hair (I think that’s the intended purpose) as well as bra straps (which I know shouldn’t go in there, but the kids forget), lacy underwear parts (incredibly irritating, also I guess I should not put in the dryer…), and anything else with a random hole or string (sweaters, joggers, anything…) It’s also making squeaking bearing type noises after a year, which I don’t like. Oh, and it makes a high pitched, very quiet sound any time it is on. So you get why I might not love my very thought out, kind of expensive purchase..
