I love the tone from these strings. So far I find them head and shoulders above the others I have tried. It has articulate bright accent tones from strings 6 and 5, balanced smooth (not twangy at all) midrange from strings 4 and 3, and deep smooth bass from the strings 2 and 1. It was a pretty startling difference. The 4 upper strings are round wound but the silk which you see sticking out the cut ends softens and mellows them out a bit. Interestingly, they almost look like copper rather than bronze. I still want to try some flat-wound strings to see if they might reduce string slide noise further, but for now these are my favorite.

These are fantastic strings right out of the package. They come in kind of a cheap looking cardboard packaging but each string is individually wrapped in their own bag. Nice! They have a great feel and came tame a bright guitar without coloring it in other ways. Wonderful, and if you are a fingerstyle player you need to at least try these!

I can’t express how much I dislike these strings. I suppose they may work for someone just starting out because they do play easier. But the tone is dead.

Was shocked to find this out just upon arrival. I certainly believe that i’m in for a compensation/refund. This pack of 6 is simply unusable, HAVING ONLY THE FIRST 2 STRINGS IN IT! never happened to me before.

I like that they make 12’s in silk strings.

These have the bronze tone but the silk dullness. so perhaps its good for singer players who want the tone but not so loud. I would say the EQ is scooped mids.

The tension is more like medium and not too easy to bend. and its not very loud – can i say it again. It depends on your pick, the thinner the better.

These guitar strings were better than expected in their quality of sound. Excellent bass and treble string acoustics. They seem to be about the same tension (and stiffness) as comparable gauge, quality steel strings. Would recommend.

    My favorite overall acoustic strings.
Although I did like these, I moved down to size 11’s as the tension was a bit much for me (I play electric). The 11’s still sound great and I’ll stick with them moving forward.
These don’t sound harsh like typical phosphor bronze strings.
I was playing thomastic plectrum – although they were extremely easy strings to play, I like the sound of these GHS strings far more as they aren’t as dead sounding. They’re a good balance; not too harsh, not too dull. Not too expensive either.
They also sound so much better than silk & steel which tend to sound dead to my ears.
They are uncoated, so don’t expect them to last as long if you’re coming from coated. For the price, I don’t feel any worse off in terms of cost.
Maybe not quite as loud as a typical phosphor bronze, but they still seem plenty loud to me. Also they seem to have way more volume than the thomastic plectrums did.
