GOTHAM STEEL Non Stick Ceramic Bakeware Set, 5 Piece

I love gotham steel! The cookie sheet is a wonderful thing to have. Still exactly as it came after one year of use about once per week. The muffin pan gets used about twice a month and makes for the best pumpkin chocolate chip muffins. I want another one of those. The baking pans make for more even baking. I love that I do not need to add any oil to any of them and they just wipe up with a paper towel enough that you have to be careful or someone might put them away without washing with soap.

Baking time note: I do decrease the baking time by 2-5 minutes depending on what I am baking in them. Once you get the timing down, you won’t want anything else. It is helpful if you start with things that you know how they look when done.

Con – I found that lighter muffins, like chocolate chip or blueberry, end up too crisp on the outside so I don’t use the gotham steel muffin pan for those. Thick heavy muffins work super well.

I used my Gotham Steel Diamond pans for the first time, to make both oatmeal chocolate chip muffins and banana bread. Both came out amazing! Though I left the hot muffins in the pan while I made and baked the banana bread, and I think they continued to cook as they got significantly darker. I guess maybe the ceramic and/or metals retains heat quite well, and much better than my old pans; I’ll keep this in mind for future baking sessions.

They say they don’t need to be greased but I greased the loaf pans with butter anyway, for common practice and ease. I used cupcake liners for the muffins. They say you can use metal utensils – no thanks. I am also only handwashing them (super easy), rather than putting then in the dishwasher. Handwashing them was a breeze – even easier than my enamelled cast iron pots, which was a welcomed change to hand washing pots and pans. I love that clean up is a breeze because I find it’s usually the most dreadful part of cooking and baking.

Very happy with my purchase and price ($30 per set of 5, on sale). I bought two sets knowing I’ll need two of all of the pans for baking. This sale came at a perfect time to get started with holiday baking.

Now to figure out how/where I will be storing them. Definitely not in my pots and pans cupboard. They will: a) get scratched up and banged around the way my kids put away our clean pots and pans and/or b) someone will use and ruin the cookie sheets for meat, like has been done with all my old cookie sheets, which I’m keeping for that purpose.

These pans have some weight to them compared with all my aluminum baking pans. They are a cinch to clean (seriously, no scrubbing, simply wipe with a soapy soft sponge), and the copper colour looks really nice.

Simply put great products.

They work great

I’ve had this set for about a week and have used the cookie sheet and the round cake pan. I baked some frozen French fries on the cookie sheet. I didn’t line the sheet with foil or parchment paper, just put the fries directly in the pan. When the fries were done they easily slide off the pan. There no need for cooking spray or oils, it was great. This morning I used the cake pan to bake some Pillsbury Cinnamon rolls. The instructions said to not use cooking spray on this product, honestly, there was no need to use any sprays or oils. After the rolls were done cooking, I let them sit for a couple minutes, then turned the pan over and the rolls slide right out. I’m very satisfied with this set and would recommend it.

Update: the warping of the cookie sheet was a one time thing. It went back flat and hasn’t done it since. My advice would be to put it in the oven the first time with nothing on it and let it cool back down just to get that out of the way. I’ve used it and the other bakeware, pots and pans many times with zero issue. I love it all and love the super easy cleaning even more. Make sure you let it all cool before cleaning and you’re set.

I bought these because they are safe for my birds and a healthy choice for us as well. I no complaints about the pots and pans that I have. I used the cookie sheet for the first time tonight and within a minute of being in the oven, it made a loud pop sound. I looked to see what was going on and the cookie sheet is warped. I have read other reviews that said it went back flat after cooling down which is fine but if I were baking a pie or something with liquid, it would have gone everywhere. I don’t like that. I read back over the instructions to make sure I hadn’t done something wrong and I haven’t so I don’t know. Just be aware. It’s still a great product. If the seller reads this and has some feedback, I’d love to hear it.

We researched the health aspects of the product against the normal Teflon and the benefits are much greater. Teflon tends to peel. Also the non stick aspect is also very good
