Amazon Customer –
This product was cheaply made. When I pulled the racks out of the box, the powder coating was already chipped. The hardware was too long for and caused scuffs on the body panels of the atv. Overall, cheaply made. It also prevented access to the front storage compartment and engine bay.

First off if you look around you can not find the same size for less than double this price. ONLY down side is the paint is not the greatest but not the worse at all. bracts worked good but i can see buy stainless steal u bolts down the road. I have suzuki 400 and the back basket hangs off in the worse spot. I ended up grinding off the lip on my quads rack to move it forward few inches. other wise only 2 bars on each side is holding all the weight. I and using for deer or other heavy projects. However, i think 40lbs would taco it. Front is perfect size and fit like a glove. I was worried since it was so cheap compared to all the others but in the end its worth it. I can see having them as long as I have the quad.

Fit my side by side just right. They were very easy to install.
Consumer 8305 –
The “powder coat” paint job is a joke. Already flaking off when I unpacked the unit. The two pieces are packed together with no shipping material between them which caused some additional paint damage and metal scratching. With that said, I am not building a show piece, so I mounted the baskets on a 2002 Polaris Sportsman 400. They fit pretty good with the included mounting hardware and seem sturdy enough. Haven’t loaded them yet, so we will see.
Consumer 8305 –
Good sturdy rack system. Poorly manufactured. I had to weld the mesh onto the one of the support posts on the rear rack because only two of the three support posts were welded. This caused the mesh to bow upward and would not lay down flat. The paint is very poor. Rusted the first night on my wheeler. I do recommend getting some good rustoleum paint and spraying the entire racks before installing them.
The mounting bolts were way too long. I had to go buy shorter bolts. The bag holding the bolts was torn open and the bolts and nuts were loose inside the box when I opened it. Both racks were just in the box without anything keeping them from rubbing against each other and scratching them up. Poor packaging For the price and the little bit of work I had to do on them to get them up to par, it was worth it. I had to cut, modify and weld the rear rack so that it would fit properly, but I knew that before I purchased them so no big deal for me. I attached some photos so you can see what I did to make the rear rack fit and work on my quad.

I have a 2012 Polaris Sportsman 500. These are claimed to be “universal”, and after specifically asking the customer service rep at Guide Gear if they would fit my quad, they clearly do not! I took them out of the box and put them up where they should mount. The front rack is about 3 inches too narrow on both sides, and I would have to cut out a space because there is not enough clearance for the light. The rear rack would also have to be cut and modified because it covers about 6 inches of the seat. I am very disappointed that they don’t fit because I like them. They do seem to be durable and well put together, just not for my machine… Now comes the hassle of returning them.

I ordered this for my Kawasaki Prairie 300 and it works perfectly. A few reviewers have written that it is difficult to install. I found that the bolts are too long once it’s tightened down but that the extra length makes it easy to install when reaching into tight places to thread the nuts in. I just cut the extra length off once the install was complete. I used a dremel with a small cut off wheel but could have just as easily used a samll hacksaw or even some larges cable cutters. Overall it only took about 30 minutes to install both racks and I never removed anything from my ATV in the process.
They work well, hold a lot of gear and make using the ATV much easier when hauling gear for work or play. I highly recommend these for anyone looking for a nice set of ATV racks at a very affordable price.
WV Rincon –
Rack is well built and looks to have really good paint coverage. The mounting brackets that come with the kit are 6-8″ flat bars that are to be mounted one above new rack and one below existing rack, then through bolted (they did provide locknuts, washers, and bolts). There are 4 sets for each rack. These are to provide the most flexible mounting options. I would recomend ditching this hardware and buying some “U” bolts (the ones with the crossbar) from the local hardware store. If you buy the same size “U” bolts you can still use the provided locknuts and washers. I suggest this for 2 reasons, first, the rack on my rincon sits very close to the body panels and it would be almost impossible to get a hand or tool in there to attach the washer and nut let alone hold it to tighten, secondly, the “U” bolt will provide a much more secure mounting option. I installed the “U” bolts where frame members on the new and existing rack crossed, in one spot that was’nt an option so I put the “U” bolt through the existing rack frame and up through the new rack wire mesh and put one of their 8″ flat bars on top to spread the torque when tightened down. I did mount all the “U” bolts open end up so the it was very easy to install and tighten the nuts, I then cut the extra threads off an dabbed on a little paint.
This is MUCH easier than my ramblings may suggest, I just wanted to get all the data in there.
Bottom line, Great price, Great product
