My last pressure cooker was made in Italy and it fell apart in less than 12 months. This pressure cooker is bomb proof. It’s a real joy to cook with. Faster at cooking than my 2 previous pressure cookers. Our new house has an induction hob, so my trusty old Prestige wouldn’t work. It was ancient and wasn’t cooking so well. This one is very sturdy and has virtually no moving parts so there’s little chance of it failing. I love this thing. It’s brilliant. The only downside is that to make the seal so effective, it has a lip around the top, which makes it harder to clean.

Very Very poor quality what ever the metal is used is bad Used to boil patatoes, has black patches inside After used dish washer to clean, it has gone bad to worst. It is cheap material, could make sick. I will not buy ever again I will try to call Amazon with complaint

Cooker works as advertised for me, and is very capable. I was looking for a smaller Hawkins cooker because all I had was an 8L classic model which took noticeably longer to get up to pressure. I use this on a modern induction cooktop (Frigidaire Professional) as well as on a cast iron hot plate. 2 cups of cool tap water (in Wisconsin) in the 3L hevibase take about 7 1/2 minutes to get steady steam coming from the vent tube, and after putting on the vent weight, I get my first whistle at 11 minutes. Cooks evenly and well, and I’ve already made some great Indian recipes with it. The manual it comes with is for the previous Hevibase model (which is NOT for induction) but I assure you mine works great on induction. In fact the manual had some pages inserted explaining this, and what sentences in the manual don’t apply any longer.

Works good but the lid seems a bit flimsy. It stays loose, not completely tight. Also usually these items ship with extra rubber seal and overpressure plug but none came with this order. Those are the ones that malfunction first and are very handy when that happens in the middle of cooking. A trusted brand like Hawkins should not spoil its reputation by skimping on these. While ordering online my wife was confident that these come with extra parts that facilitate immediate replacement but, alas, that was not the case.

Like that it is broad and the right size for a family of 4. If you wash it by hand it maintains its color, shine and looks like new even after several uses.
6/19/24: update after 9 months of use. The safety valve keeps failing and replacements don’t last more than few days. Definitely a manufacturing defect and the 5 year warranty is not honored by Amazon who directed us to the manufacturer. Hawkins said we would have to return the item to their repair shop in India at our expense! May as well buy another cooker! Amazon refused to stand behind their product after 30 days. Look for another manufacturer !
