Hella H4 light are a must for vintage European cars. My Volvo had been sold with crappy bulbs to meet US standards. The Hella lights fit perfectly .

Installed into a 1970’s Volkswagen bus. Fitment was easy and the low profile gave a super clean look. With LED H4 bulbs the beam pattern filled the road very well. The cutoff doesn’t blind opposing drivers and there was little light bleed.

They’re also not going to yellow with age or scratch easily like plastic! Five stars!

I put these head lamp fixtures in a 1977 k2 Suburban with 7″ round head lamps, normally a 6024 sealed beam.
They fit well, where the rim clamp sits is just a little wider than original. The origination tabs lined up and no head lamp aiming was needed since my where aimed well before lamp update. used the Hella H4P50 bulbs, low and high beam in 1 bulb.
In order to use the nice rubber seal that comes with Hella E code fixtures I need to change the bulb socket. Pictured here from the wide clover shaped to the simple square 3 terminal.
These lights are only a small improvement over halogen sealed beam bulbs. Once the the fixtures are up dated, the Hella H4P5 bulbs were less then $5 ea, A Sylvanna H6024 is $19.00-25.00. There is a huge H4 bulb selection to choose from.
Did I mention the Lens is Glass not plastic that dull and fade

The face was flatter than I expected and they came without bulbs. But after installing quality bulbs, my 40 years old car has fantastic illumination. It’s much safer and enjoyable to drive now.

Have used this headlamp for years as a retrofit on classic vehicles. When used with a quality (not included) LED BULB, the lighting power is high and good quality. Much better and lower coat than the Chinese off-brand LED drop-in headlamps.

I put these in a 1972 VW Beetle and they are great! I’ve used cheaper ones before but these are my go-to from now on. Paired up with some good LED’s bulbs they are awesome. Very good light spread without blinding oncoming traffic. And what better for an old VW than Hella!
