This is a nice set of baskets, but for the quality they are very pricey. They do have a very strong odor that still has not dissipated after having them aired out for a few days. I am hoping that the odor does go away because at this point, I donโt want to place any items in there to absorb that scent.

I love water hyacinth baskets for their chunky weave and lovely golden color; in fact I have several baskets made from water hyacinth but I love these the best because they have lids. Baskets are great for hiding clutter, but being able to see the clutter peeking out from the top isn’t ideal. These baskets completely hide what’s inside for a much cleaner and nicer look in my home. They are large so they hold a great deal of items, from paperback books to toys to craft supplies, candles, socks, toilet paper rolls, kitchen gadgets, coffee cup and coffee pods, stacks of bills and mail… Whatever you need to store or hide, these are a great-looking solution that look really nice sitting out on your counter or on a table or shelf.
The baskets are large and well made. They have sturdy metal frames that are well hidden by the thick, chunky weaving, but make these baskets strong. The lids and basket bottoms have a hidden metal slat across the center, as well, for extra strength. The lids have rope “hinges” on one side so they easily swing open and closed. The smaller ends have open handles made into them for easy grabbing. They are natural material in a chunky basket weave, so they do have a boho, somewhat rustic look. They also have the same “straw” type odor that my other water hyacinth baskets arrived with. I set them outside on my covered porch for a few days and that really helped air them out.
Overall, I am very pleased with these baskets. They are large, sturdy, and can be used to hold and hide all sorts of things. I just love their gorgeous, natural golden color variations and their charming and chunky rustic texture.

These are decent enough baskets with metal frames which is nice and I like that they come with lids although the hinges are just thin rope so we’ll see how they hold up. They do stink like crazy when you get them and I left mine outside overnight which took care of most of it and the rest of the odor is basically gone after a few weeks of sitting. These will be one of two type of people, those that are looking for this style of container and people like me that don’t really care what it looks like as long as it works right. These are baskets that hold stuff with lids that are a little janky as they have to be maneuvered to close properly since the hinges are rope and allow a lot of movement. But in reality they are good baskets for storage, the price is just insane at $65 for 3.
