I have never used an Instant Pot before. But I bought the Instant Pot WIDE because I wanted to do a seafood boil at my office. I wanted to get frozen crab legs and didn’t want to wait to thaw, so I figured the wide would fit those the best. I am SO GLAD I went with the wide because it fit perfectly! 4 other people at the lunch have other Instant Pots and they were all complimenting this one and saying how BIG it was. I used the metal trivet to keep the corn and crab legs out of the water while the Instant Pot steamed the food. It came out perfectly cooked after 7 minutes of steaming. I’m grateful 3 of the other Instant Pot users told me how to work the thing because I had no idea how to work it! 🙂

I love it! Cooked two huge pork loins at the same time. PERFECT! East to set up and use. Just very heave!!!! I seem to still always be involved in cooking for multi meals and/or events so while I’m a single person in age 71 I do want to be able to have the size capability but boy is it heavy I’m still able to use it but I just wanted to put that warning out there If you’re buying for your grandma ❤️

I like the instant pot, but there are no items, like steamer baskets, cake pans, etc that fit this pot. Due to that you can’t steam or bake cakes in it like your supposed to.

My hubby is a detail oriented cook, concept cooking, big green egg type guy. Loves to cook. He spends hours, cooking. The pressure cooker amazed him. Cut cooking time by 75%, without loss of flavor, for stews,, pot roasts, etc. You can saute the veggies and just add the rest. The slower cooker is crock pot quality. It works well. The only negative is it takes a bit of real-estate in the cupboard.

I previously had an old Fagor pressure cooker that was epic and worked well for almost 10 years. I then decided to upgrade and get a Ninja Pressure cooker, and that was a mistake. Used it around 5-6 times and every time, it was too bulky, tall, and would ask for more water, no matter how much water was in it (making bean soup). Ninja products are usually very good, but that one went directly in the garbage after it let me down when entertaining.
Now enter the Instapot RIO wide base!!!! This thing is perfect for under the counter and sits low, but holds more than any previous one I’ve had. I tested it on a very thick 15 bean soup and several other recipes and it works like a champ! I am serious about food and compete in BBQ smoking competitions, and take all of my kitchen and grill/smoker equipment seriously. I don’t want to worry about the operation, but want to taste good food, and this thing delivers with power, precision, and quiet as you can get! Did I mention it is HUGE inside and takes up way less than the Ninja garbage did. I am extremely happy with this purchase and if you are serious about pressure cooking, this one is money, you won’t be disappointed.
