First, let me address some of the reviews taking shots at the quality of the machine. I’m not sure if they bought them from unreliable third party sellers or something but if you look on any coffee-focused site, you’ll see this machine gets consistently excellent reviews for both taste and quality. I’ve only had mine a week and will update if anything changes but it’s been flawless so far. Do NOT let a handful of reviews here or on Reddit scare you away. This is a fantastic machine and Jura customer service is terrific and could not be easier to get in touch with.

Now, the most significant pro and con of this machine is its simplicity. It makes exactly two drinks: espresso and coffee. Most machines at this price point obviously can do much more, but if you’re like me and almost never drink fancy coffee drinks, it’s a huge plus not having to deal with the added cost and complexity that comes with that functionality. Besides, the one knock on the more full-featured Juras is that their milk containers are – and there’s no nice way to say this – hideous. For $100, you can add a fantastic Illy milk frother that doubles as an art piece and is more than ready to go if your guests want a cappuccino.

Because of its simplicity, you also get a stripped down interface as opposed to the touchscreen you get on more advanced models. Again, it’s perfectly functional for such a simple machine but it can be slightly nettlesome checking the instructions to see how to program it — stuff like hit the big cup button for yes, the coffee bean symbol for more, etc. But once you’re set up, it couldn’t be simpler.

And all of this leads to the only thing that really matters and that is that this makes one of the best – if not the best cup of espresso – from an all in one machine. It’s steaming hot, concentrated and ground to your liking, and consistently excellent. It’s a great way to start the morning.

I did purchase the WiFi add on because I like stupid gimmicks but it doesn’t do much because, again, this machine doesn’t do much. But what it does do, it does oh so well.

They sell these filters all over the place: Walmart, Williams Sonoma, *Amazon*, etc. It’s a Swiss company and I guess they’re not too focused on sending cheap replacement filters halfway across the world. They’re busy making fantastic automatic coffee machines. I have two of this model. Just get a separate frother for your cappuccinos. Highly recommended!

Typical European interface with lots of minuscule symbols – looks great but definitely not consumer friendly. You have to read the manual (many times) to get the hang of it. Welcome to the past.

I was not satisfied with this item that was advertised as new. Unfortunately, it is an obvious open box return. I was disappointed that a $1k espresso machine would be delivered like this. The box was damaged, all the items inside of the box were removed from original packaging, and there was dust and dog hair on the machine. Ultimately returned due to poor advertising and upon further review Jura customer service and warranty are supposedly difficult to work with.

I presently have a Z7 which is about 10 years old. I had to send it back to Jura for complete refurbishing. We bought the Jura ENA 4 as a replacement while the Z7 gets fixed. Love both machines.

The media could not be loaded.

As a coffee snob, I’ve been wanting a Jura espresso machine for a while. I finally splurged (on the basic model), and it did not disappoint. The coffee is perfect— get the right beans and adjust the water settings. The coffee is better than any coffee shop, and consistent. It is absolutely worth the price! **I bought a separate milk frother

This machine was advertised as ” new” but arrived in a beat up box with coffee grounds still in the grinder.
