K&H Pet Products Heated Thermo-Kitty Café Cat Bowls, 2093

A feral cat adopted us. She’s been here for a year now, but will not allow anyone to touch her. I figured if she’s going to live outside, I will help her as much as I can. Last year her water bowl kept freezing so this heated bowl is exactly what is needed. As others have said, there is a bit of smell from the heated plastic, which did seem to turn her off at first, but she quickly decided that she could live with it. After using the bowl for a couple of months now it seems to have less of a smell now. We use the bowls daily and the unit is on every day now that the temperature is getting colder. There have been several below freezing nights and the water is staying warm. I did add small circles of thin cardboard under the bowls because i was worried about the food & water getting too hot, and it is working out perfectly. The water will stay just slightly warm. I added a remote extension plug so I can turn the bowl off from inside the house on days when the temperature is warmer. I recommend this also.

I bought this heated bowl set for my TNR yard cat. It is easy to clean, keeps food and water warm when it is cold outside, it’s sturdy, looks good, holds lots of food and water and the cat is not afraid to use it. It’s a great product.

I have a feral cat that I have been feeding for years. Every winter is a stressful time for me because if I miss his coming and going the food and water freezes and he doesn’t eat (not to mention the waste of constantly throwing out frozen food). My husband found this bowl and I bought it.

The other night the temperature up here in Canada went down to -28 degrees celcius (-18F) and the food stayed soft and the water never froze. It was amazing! My car battery froze but the water bowl didn’t. I found that the food feels cool and the water is definitly cold but neither froze.

I was concerned that maybe he wouldn’t like eating out of the small stainless steel bowl (I feed him on plates) but he doesn’t seem to mind. I can see him drink often on camera and am happy that fresh water is always available.

There is a smell of plastic but outside in the fresh air it doesn’t seem to bother him at all. I have noticed several other neighbourhood cats stopping by for a nibble now and then and none of them seem bothered by the set-up or the smell.

I have mine set up on a covered porch which is open on three sides. It has a grounded plug that I connect to a grounded extension cord that I have set up to hang from the wall rather than sit on the ground. The connection have been sheltered from the weather.

I love it and the cats seem to love it. I highly recommend this bowl.

I only used the K&H Heated Thermo Kitty Cafe for a few days due to the extreme below zero cold weather we had. Only one of the feral cats would use the feeder, the others were reluctant to eat or drink out of it.

The water and food got extremely warm in the bowls despite the outdoor temperature. Using a probe type thermometer, the water got well over 90F and the wet food well up into the 80F range. This is way too warm for keeping the food fresh and water cool enough to still drink.

I was disappointed in the product as other K&H heated products worked very well for me. I will have to figure out a way to still use it next winter, maybe by putting some air space between the heated base and the bowls.

I’ve been using this outdoors all winter to feed stray cats. I bought it to replace a bigger bowl from another manufacturer that didn’t even last a couple of months. This Thermo-Kitty Café dish has been much better.

I like how it has separate food and water dishes. It gets severely cold here some nights, but this kept the water drinkable and the food from turning into frozen rocks. The little dish seems to hold about a cup-and-a-half of food, and the bigger bowl holds maybe a litre-and-a-half or so. It depends on how many cats are coming by, but I usually have to refill it daily.

The metal dishes lift out easily, so they’re not difficult to clean. Once in a while, I’ll bring the whole unit in for cleaning, which I do by wiping it down with a soapy rag. Kinda wish it came with some backup dishes though, so you could swap out the dirty dishes with clean ones.

Also, I really appreciate how it has a grounded cord. This bowl’s been outdoors and exposed to the elements. Some days it gets warmer and wet out, and even though this thing seems to be sealed watertight, you’ll still want a grounded cord for safety’s sake.

Overall, I’m happy with this bowl.

Purchased for a feral cat I take care of. Was tired of finding her water frozen solid everyday. This bowl is nice, could’ve been slightly smaller for a cat but I just switched to a larger “food house” to accommodate. It keeps water good temp the colder it is outside. I live where it’s been warmer so I actually add ice sometimes. I also add lil water to food side to keep the heat from dryer out canned catfood, or else I just set the bowl out of the stand. But obviously don’t need to do all that when the cold snaps happen. The bowls are stainless, clean easy. They both hold good bit. This would work well for multiple cats. I store it away in summer although I may just unplug it this summer and keep using. Nothing seems to get spilled with this, and I get wildlife stealing food from it. This is really a must have if you help out community cats.
