KitchenAid Precision Gooseneck Digital Kettle – KEK1032

Been using this for a week now, and I love it – heats water up quickly, has a nice little chime to let me know when it’s done, and the digital + analog temp gauges are both super easy to read.

The only thing I don’t really like about it is, the handle. It’s just a very weird angle that causes me to have to have a bent wrist when holding or pouring it, which is uncomfortable to do when the kettle is full. I’d rather have a vertical handle; it’s a small complaint, but I’m docking a star for it – it’s just that uncomfortable

I’m a novice coffee brewer that’s privy to the pour over method with japanese products and upgraded from my stove kettle (a Gator). After skimming through all the reviews, I bought due to its name (they make excellent stand mixers), the lack of reviews, and it was marked down $40 on a sale here. Some thoughts after coming from a Gator Stovetop Kettle:

1. It heats up quicker than the stove top kettle for me (starting around 60 degrees to a target of 200 degrees). Cranking up my stove at max heat. It feels like 10 minutes. This is much quicker and feels like 3-5. It also heats up to 200 degrees and doesn’t miss the mark compared to my stove top kettle (because I’m not close enough at the time to catch it there) and there’s a setting to keep at 200.

2. The pour from this kettle is gorgeous. There’s different flow settings apparently, but the default pour feels perfect for my pour over needs. It looks and feels surprisingly gentle when you slowly tip it and is quite linear as you increase the angle. The spout of the kettle has a nice little notch at the end which I think helps it.

3. It’s well engineered. Some other things I enjoy about this kettle is the small little padded footies below the kettle. With my stove top, I would set it on a cooling rack after I heat it. The footies give me confidence in setting it on the counter. The top stay on quite well. The temperature gauge is big. The build of my version of this kettle is simply solid.

Highly recommended for those looking to pour coffee and good for teas, too.

I honestly don’t know how anyone could not love this kettle. I drink lots of tea and coffee and have used an electric kettle for years. I was just looking for a second kettle and I was drawn to this based on the look. So elegant and streamlined. I am not a crazed perfectionist for temperature at all, but now that I have the kettle, I appreciate that I can play around with different temperatures and see if it makes any difference to me. While it has lots of features, it’s also very simple and easy to operate. Basically it heats the water to the temperature you want and then it shuts off automatically, or you can then keep it warm at whatever temperature you want (and it will automatically shut off with the keep warm feature after 30 minutes which is nice so you don’t have to remember to do anything, though you could manually extend the time if you need to). It feels very classy and is a joy to use. Definitely an upgrade from the kettle I’d been using for the last 15 years!

I was debating between this and Fellow Stagg. I am glad I got this one. It’s the best design for water flow control and ideal to hand pouring coffee or tea. It’s made from best quality of stainless steel. I just love to use it every day.

En general me gustó mucho y necesitaba un cuello de ganso para preparar yerba mate. La temperatura mínima para programar es 60 ⁰c y me hubiera gustado que fuera menor. Mantiene una temperatura hasta por 30min.
El piano black de la base de los botines llego un poco rayada lo demás estaba bien y por eso no lo cambié. Llevo 1 mes de uso intenso y todo OK.

Esta jarra es súper práctica, resistente, eficiente, fácil de limpiar. Tengo casi tres años con ella y sigue como nueva. En su momento costaba poco más del doble que otras jarras en el mercado, pero las dos anteriores me duraron menos de un año, valió la pena.
