K&M Electric Guitar Performing Stand

Geht gar nicht: Die Schrauben der Gitarrenhalteklemmen stehen etliche Zentimeter weit ab und bohren sich in den Bauch des Spielers. Man kann auch leicht hängen bleiben und alles umreißen. Die Schrauben gehören auf die andere Seite!!
Die Klemmen sind auch schwer anzubringen, es braucht Kraft und Geschicklichkeit, man kann sich schnell den Finger klemmen oder die Gitarre fällt einem runter. Es gelingt nicht schnell auf Anhieb, die Gitarre einzuspannen.
Les-Paul-artige Gitarren haben wohl ein Problem damit, dass die Kabelbuchse nicht mehr zugänglich ist. Bei Strats tritt das Problem nicht auf.
Stabilität: unten massiv und hochwertig, oben dünner werdend. Es wackelt mir doch zu sehr.
Da bewegliche Teile nicht gesichert waren, erhielt ich das Gerät mit erheblichen Schrammen. Es war definitiv nicht mehr als neuwertig zu bezeichnen.

I was skeptical that this would be ergonomic and functional. I’m happy to say that it works great and is stable. I can easily play the guitar without the neck and shoulder pain of a guitar strap.

Ok, I was looking for a stand to hold my mandolin, but after reading some reviews, I found it doubtful that this stand would work. Then again mine is not your average mandolin thank to Dillon musical instruments. But seeing it was the only performance stand I could find that wasn’t specifically made for acoustic guitars, I decided to take the 350+ dollar risk and ordered it. After all, I could always use it for one of my electric guitars.
Well let me tell you… this stand is just what the doctor ordered. No more switching from one instrument to another during the middle of a song. Now I just walk up to the mandolin and play it’s part and back up a couple steps to play leads on the guitar. All without switching instruments and fumbling to get it back on a stand. Not to mention, getting the other strapped on before a solo.
Keep in mind I have not stage or road tested it yet, but from the quality, I believe this stand will work out just fine for many years.
As for the stand itself.. it’s light weigh, but sturdy, folds up as compact as any cymbal stand, looks good in basic black and has plenty of adjustments for getting that perfect hight and angle for comfortable playing.
I would say if you’re looking for the perfect performance stand and have $350 to spend on a guitar stand, this would be what I recommend. Also the manufacturer has addressed the issue with the input jack, mentioned in earlier reviews. It now has a cutout that should address the issue for most brands of guitars. I’ll include a picture.
All and all, I am pleased with my purchase.

I’ve had an aching neck/spine thing that caused chronic headaches that went on for years. It was definitely related to decades of guitar playing, but I thought it was a posture thing. Then I started to suspect having a guitar slung around my neck for hours every day.
I tried every strap under the sun, including all the harness type ones that distribute the weight evenly across both shoulders, but they were such a fiddle to put on and off and use on multiple guitars. Then I heard about this stand. Loads of times in the past I’ve been stood there with a guitar round my neck and thought wouldn’t it be great if there were something that would just hold your guitar in the air with no weight on your body… and there was. I can play for hours again with no neck ache at all.
As for the stand itself, 5 stars for the freedom it gives you, but I took a star off because it has a few design issues that could be improved upon. The rubber things that cover the front clamps can pop off really easily if your picking arm leans on the guitar and sort of pulls it back towards you a bit. A bit of double sided tape sorted that out. Also, the bracket that the guitar sits on has nothing supporting the back end so it jiggles about all over the place when playing. I fixed this by attaching one of those mic clamps you can get for attaching a second mic to a mic stand. They’re the ones that let you have a mic at waist height for acoustic guitar, while the other mic is at head height. You attach this so the bit where the mic goes is pressed against the underside of the bracket preventing it from bouncing up and down.
The final issue is foot pedals. With the three-legged base fully extended, it’s very difficult to get pedals in there. I use an axe fx that has a expression pedal for wah etc, and a six switch foot controller. The only way I could get these near my feet was to set the three legs quite narrow, then lash the stand itself to my desk to make it impossible for it to tip over. I did this by screwing one of those cup holder hooks to the front of my desk, pinching it closed with pliars, then using one of those sturdy cable ties wrapped around the stand. A bathroom chain would probably work to. Now the stand cannot tip over no matter what even with the feet set really narrow. My concern with this stand before I tried it was that not having the guitar move around with me would affect my playing, but it’s not an issue at all. Having the guitar in a fixed position is fine. And so good to be able to just walk away from it any time to answer the phone or whatever, then return and start playing again. It means my guitar is just ready to play immediately whenever I like. The stand is expensive for what it is, but it’s very well made – design issues aside – and one of the best purchases I’ve made in years.

Excellent product. Allows me to play two different instruments/musical parts on stage back to back. Construction is superb, rock solid sturdiness. A bit pricey, butttt that’s not uncommon as most musicians will tell you 😂

You can stand or sit to this guitar support, ‘brilliant!’ because it angles towards you – some stands don’t. Well made and sturdy 🙂
