Could not be any happier ! Gig two to three nights a week. Using standard A frame folding stands. Although those stands are convenient for storage, they do not always hold the guitar in the straight upright position nor do they accommodate guitars such as a Taylor T5 very well. Additionally, those folding type stands often get straps tangled when you use during a gig. This stand addresses and corrects all those issues. Very stable. Very easy to use. And above all, very compact – folds to the size of about 1/2 of a mic stand. I can put these in my mic stand bag [I like this one so much I bought a second one]. No tangles with straps. Excellent. K&M is consistent in their quality.
Guitar Technique –
This is my 1st K & M purchase. Boy, is this a good, sturdy, safe stand!. I have used every kind of guitar/bass/ukulele stand made. Some have been disasters and others kind of meh. This stand is so obviously designed with the weights and shapes of instruments in mind. I was a little hesitant to spend the $$ but in needed something that could take a lot of use. This one has been great. It lives at church where I play weekly and practice with the worship team a few days a week. No problems at all. In my opinion, worth the price.

I think that this guitar stand is a good deal. I have been playing music for 35 years or more, and done a lot of gigging. It folds up relatively small, it’s lightweight, and it’s a well thought out design. Others don’t fold up as small, or they have an extra piece to cart around. This does a decent job. It’s only real worry for me is that some key pieces are plastic; the clips that hold it in your desired position, the top that folds over and holds the guitar; but I believe the rest is a metal construction. I imagine that those plastic pieces could break if something puts too much pressure on it, but it’s made pretty well. It sets up quick, takes up little space, it’s lightweight, won’t scratch a guitar and holds every guitar I’ve put in it very well. I give it 5 stars. I used one for a few gigs and had to buy another. I play about 130-180 shows a year. Hope that helps you.

Very well made and stable… but… the design of the yoke includes what might be a recent product modification–a built-up area of the rubber coating that covers the self-closing metal yoke that holds the headstock. This may be meant to make the stand even “safer” by reducing the chances of the guitar slipping out of the yoke. However, it also feature narrows the opening enough that a classical guitar, normally with a 52mm nut, must be turned on its side to enter the yoke, although once in it can be straightened again so it hangs properly. This is not the end of the world, but it requires a little more concentration/effort to get a classical guitar solidly in and out of the yoke. Because I put my guitar in and out often during a practice session, a wider yoke, even one without a self-closing mechanism, would have been preferable.
Update: after using the stand for a few months, the constant need to turn the guitar sideways to get it in or out of the yoke has become so annoying that I tend not to use it. Unfortunately the time within which a return can be made has passed. Were it it not for this issue the stand would be fine. Illustrations of the product on the Amazon and K&M websites do not seem to show the rubber protuberances on the inside of the two fingers of the yoke that make the yoke too narrow for a classical guitar
I have contacted what appears to be the US distributor for K&M (per the K&M website) to see if the yoke assembly can be replaced with a bumpless version—it it exists!

Great quality and design. I use it in my home studio, and at practice with my other band members.
PROS: Easy to set up and break down. Folds up small enough for my gig bag. Neck cradles my offset Fender jazz and also my Ibanez without issue.
CONS: Would like it to have been a tad more stable, but it’s not bad for home and studio use. I don’t know if I would use this at a gig and leave between sets. That would make me a bit nervous. I think there are more stable options.

Tiny Ferrule that holds one side of the pin for the lower clamping mechanism fell out. Per the US Service provider (Connolly Music), this is not available as a replacement part. (See picture). This basically renders the stand useless, because the bottom shaft will then sit on the floor, making the stand unstable. Really liked the stand until this happened. Out of Warranty. Any suggestions, anyone??

Great guitar stand! This stand holds guitar tightly for security. Well made and adjustable for various sized instruments. Also, I like the fact that it can collapse for easy transport. I would highly recommend!

I own and have owned many guitar racks and stands. In terms of racks, my favorite is my QuikLok 7-slot unit. Mine looks identical to the current ones but is from when they were still made in Italy. It’s light, folds up, come with casters, holds almost anything and keeps the guitars from touching each other. I also have a Rockstand 7-slot rack that has a real flaw. The tubes, which used to be round many years ago, are now square. This means your guitar is always sitting on an edge which quickly compresses the cheap foam rubber tubing they now use to cover the metal causing it to deteriorate prematurely. I’ve had to buy tubing from the hardware store to put around what’s left of the original tubing. And, of course, you have to be careful to keep guitars from hitting each other. When it comes to individual stands, I’ve tried quite a few and have come to find K&M stands to be the best in the business. I have several of the Heli electric guitar stands and one of the universal stands for an acoustic guitar. The only drawback to them is that they won’t work well with asymmetrical guitars which is a problem for my Jazz basses which is why I bought several of these as well. It’s lightweight, folds quite compactly and stays extremely steady once locked. I’ve never had any issues with slippage of the shaft or problems with the yolk. In direct comparison to the similar Hercules model, I found the Hercules was way over-engineered and did not work nearly as well. It did not collapse like this one, was covered in an inferior material that will wear and was more expensive than the K&M Memphis Pro. I would say if you only buy one stand, this is the one to get.
