LEVOIT Smart WiFi Air Purifier with HEPA Filter

I bought the Vital 100S.

Like many reviewers of this product, I purchased it because the wildfire smoke had infiltrated my house. I never ever thought that I would be “that” person – someone who needed their own atmosphere! But the irritation in my nose and throat motivated me to buy this unit for my well-being.

The reasons I chose this model are: the true HEPA, of course! Also the 3-stage filter. The CADR was good for the size of my rooms (I have open concept on the main floor, and a vaulted ceiling upstairs) the pre-filter is cleanable and I like the fact that I can also get specialized filters for Pet, Toxin and Smoke (in case things get really crazy!). The reviews are excellent and the price is right. I am seriously considering buying another of Levoit’s units for the upstairs!

I have not used any of the “connected” features so I cannot comment on those.

The unit is easy to unpack and I was able to start using it immediately. It is very presentable; it’s also light enough to be portable because I’ve been moving it from room to room (when the wind shifts sometimes the smoke comes into a different part of the house). It’s super easy to use; I love the control panel, you just tap on it to turn it on, set the fan strength, and activate the timer. The first 2 fan settings are so quiet that I can barely hear that the unit is on. The third setting is a little louder but it IS moving a lot of air after all! I’ve only had it 2 weeks so haven’t had to clean it or change the filter.

One thing I didn’t consider thoroughly was the placement of the unit. In order to work properly any air purifier needs to be kind of in the middle of things. Proper placement of an air purifier is between 3 and 5 feet off the ground, with about 3 feet of open space around it. Luckily, the 100S fits well with my decor and is light enough to put on a table or my bookshelves. I was worried that it might vibrate a lot and eventually shake itself off the table but it’s staying put quite well.

So far, I am very satisfied with this purchase.

Got this unit to suck up strange dust balls that started appearing in my home when I got a bird mite infestation. I have a sneaking suspicion the mites are in the dust. Anyhow, this air purifier does an excellent job! It’s SO quiet, and I find the air exhaust to be a nice little bonus fan. It fits everywhere and looks good doing it. To be honest, at first, I didn’t want a “smart” air purifier, but I’m now hooked on the app telling me when air levels are bad, suggesting that I turn on the unit, which I can do from my phone! Don’t even have to be home! Love that! And it’s definitely monitoring the air, because I get that notification every time I burn incense or spray cleaners nearby, or run my essential oil diffusers with too much oil. When I opened the unit to check the charcoal pre-filter to see if it’s working as I’d hoped, sure enough, HUGE dust balls in there! I cleaned them out quickly and put everything back together easily. I really am surprised by how awesome this air purifier is. I never had one before, thought they were hooey, but now I won’t ever be without one.

Let me start out by saying that I am truly impressed by this product. The quality is excellent, the functionality is excellent, the app is excellent and the experience in setting it up was excellent. I bought this purifier because I have cats and needed to reduce those pesky pet orders and dander. My first impression when I unpacked the air purifier was how it was packaged. By that I mean no messy Styrofoam which is a good thing. Setting up this unit is very easy. The controls are easy to understand and they function as noted in the Quick Start Guide. There was no having to figure out what this button or that button was for…just simple straight-forward control. The app is a great addition and was very easy to connect. It even asked me if I wanted to connect to Alexa. I was literally able to download the app, signup at the app website, connect to Bluetooth, connect to Wi Fi and then to Alexa in just a few minutes with no problems and no hassles. I am so pleased with this product that I just had to get a review out right away. The feature I appreciate the most is being able to use Alexa to control the device. The app even provides you with sample questions to ask Alexa. The manufacturer has thought of everything and brought it all together in an easy-to-use end product. If you are looking for an air purifier that works as advertised, I highly recommend Levoit.

I live in a 2 bed 2 bath apartment, so we rotate having this by the bedrooms, or by the kitchen and it’s great! It’s reassuring knowing it is cleaning the air. I’ve had pretty constant congestion for 6 months and haven’t had allergy problems before, so I got this hoping it would help clear the air. The light around the power button changes color depending on your air quality which is very convenient, and the app is simple to set up and use and will send notifications to my phone if the air quality changes. Sometimes I get a notification when I’m at work and my spouse is cooking, and I’ll get in the app and up the fan speed remotely. We have it in the entry to the kitchen when we cook (which we use our kitchen for all three meals each day) and it has definitely helped clear any smoke or strong smells out! Sometimes we would cook and you could smell the spices for the next few days, but this has helped that! I open up the front and vacuum it every couple weeks cause it doesn’t get too dusty or dirty for us. It has an auto mode where it will change its speed depending on the air quality it detects. Overall this works great and is quiet and not annoying or noticeable unless you have it on the highest setting, but we don’t have it always on high.
