Mrs. 10s –
Great value!

I’ve been using these strings for about 3 years. To me, they sound great. And, more importantly, they last a long time. I practice about 4-5 hours a day, and a set of these strings will last me a good 2 years. Pricey, yes, but at the end of the day, worth the money.
Ivy –
Great sounding strings, i am a beginner cellist and much enjoy the sound and quality of these strings.
Bottom line, i would definitely recommend these and already have.
Side note, i bought these 3-4 months ago and they are still going strong.
Lourdes –
This was recommended to me by a luthier so I switched. The strings were mellow sounding not as bright as my previous set. The D string took a long time to settle though. I’m still not fully sold on these set of strings. I’ll update this review in a few weeks.

The G and C have a great resonance. My son loves using these strings and they last a very long time

Before upgrading to magnacores, I used larsen soloist on the A and D, and helicores for G and C. After putting these on and playing my instrument, I *immediately* noticed the HUGE difference it made! I get a much bigger sound and better tone quality out of the lower strings with these. And after playing on these strings for about 5 or 6 months, they have not lost much, if any of the sound or tone quality. The G and C strings did sound a tad bit metallic at first, but that does go away fairly quickly as you break in the strings.
The only downside of course, is the huge burning hole in the wallet compared to the strings I used to buy…but it was VERY much worth the investment and I don’t think I’m ever going back to what I was using before! My wallet will really start hating me if larsen comes out with magnacore for A and D. 😛

I be played on Larsen strings for 20 years. This experience was totally unexpected.
The A string came unraveled right away upon set up. The G string had a distinct rattle to it. Super disappointed and dissatisfied with the whole experience.
Darren Williams –
This is my first set of Larsens and I don’t think I can ever use anything else from now on. The magnacore changed the entire timbre of my lower register in a very, very good way. I feel like my cello has more power in it’s sound, and a low heavy “boom” from the open strings that I really like for arpeggiated phrases and the Bach Suites where you rebound off of the lower register frequently. The range between the Magnacore G and the Soloist D is slightly odd, but really it just comes down to preference and what shifting patterns the piece demands, or what you are willing to alter for your preferred sound.
