I have purchased this product multiple times and LOVED it, could handle the taste and it worked to help me get to sleep and stay asleep. I opened a bottle from my latest order and could immediately tell it was different and it had a very distinct chemical smell to it. Shook it up really well because I know it can separate, reopened it and still smelled horrible. I tried it and the taste was horrendous and definitely had a chemical like taste to it. The color and consistency was definitely different (thinner) and much lighter in color than what I had experienced before. Opened the second bottle from my order and it was pretty much the same, maybe not as strong of odor but definitely had a pungent smell that was not normal. Immediately attempted to return/replace and got the run around on Amazon and was sent multiple auto generated messages stating item was unreturnable. Tried again the next day and got the same thing. Chalked it up as a loss and ate the cost and threw out both bottles. Won’t be ordering this product again, at least not through Amazon. Maybe ordering direct from the company would get me a better experience if I ran in to issues.

Very impressed with their customer service, so that combined with the good experiences I’ve had using several other Mary Ruth products, I definitely recommend the company overall, maybe just proceed with caution with the Magnesium Calm until you know the taste agrees with you.
Wow, I should’ve listened to the other reviews about how this products tastes! I just can’t get over how glycerin, nut butter and vanilla flavor come together to taste this crazy! The flavor is so strong and sickly. Glad some people seem to like it, I thought it’d be fine, since I’m not that picky, but yikes! Since it was expensive and the ingredients and magnesium amount is good, I’m still taking it every day, but I have to down it really quick while holding my nose, then brush my teeth afterwards. If you’ve never tried this before, maybe start off with one bottle to make sure the flavor works for you.

The taste is just indescribable. It’s bitter and it tastes like chemical warfare BUT I have never gotten such deep full sleep before in my life. I tried the calm magnesium and that did nothing after months of taking it. On the first day I took this I slept unbroken sleep for 8 hours. That never happens for me. This has completely changed my life. Also, I mix it into plain water because it’s too thick by itself. I have tried masking it with other things and it was worse. Just mix it into water to thin it and throw it back.

Update!!!
I contacted MaryRuth’s customer support and they told me to throw out the one I purchased and they were sending me a new one in the mail. Once I received it and tasted it, it was awesome! The support team was awesome and very helpful and the product is great!! I am changing my review because of the update.
It says easy to take and delicious. False. It’s terrible tasting. I’ve tried I alone, in a protein drink and then mixed with yogurt. I can’t say if it works or not as it has not been long enough but I will not be buying again. I refuse to throw it out because I hate wasting anything however this is just awful. I was going to give it one star but it might actually work regardless of the taste🤢

I felt relaxed after taking it before bed. I believe I’ve been getting better and deeper sleep. Also. A few times my leg muscle would spasm after starting back up at the gym. Upon taking it shortly after, it quickly went away. Sadly, the taste is terrible. It is a bit challenging to describe. Super bitter, not sweet, a thick oily-like pudding texture. I hope they try to alter the taste of the recipe. Perhaps adding stevia would help? I usually chase it with raw honey to cleanse my pallet of the harsh flavor. With how much it cost, and with it seeming to work, I continued taking it nightly before bed. I’m not sure if I’d recommend it simply because of how unpleasant it is upon initially taking it night after night. I’m thankful for the more natural ingredients.

Magnesium does everything good – relaxes muscles, helps with headaches, it’s an electrolyte, it helps with sleep cycles. This is a highly bioavailable form of magnesium, which is helpful for someone like me who has motility and absorption issues. The taste takes some getting used to for sure, but by the end of my first month taking it, I looked forward to it. I’m making this sound like some sort of salacious drug, but I’m just serious – magnesium fixes everything. This stuff is expensive, and it’s frustrating to have to spend this much on just magnesium, but it’s worth it. It’s good.
