The search for the clear lava light has been found! No it’s not a Mathamos but it’s the absolute best we are going to get in the USA. seriously this thing is perfect. I wish it came in other (humongous) sizes. It doesn’t have a bulb it has a very practical heat element. It still gets hot like a normal lava light. It’s color changing with a remote with many settings. This is the new modern all improved lava light. It’s perfect and I love it! Thank You

I got the lamp with the purple wax. I have two issues with it:
Some of the colors make it look like fecal matter floating around in there, so I stick with the white light. I suppose if the wax had been white the color changing features of the lamp would have been better. But I don’t like the look of swimming poo.
There is a 4 hour max time limit suggested by the instructions. It takes about an hour to properly warm up and start moving like it should, so that leaves 3 hours to enjoy the lamp before you have to shut it off. I was hoping for a longer-lasting ambiance.
Other than that it is a nice lamp.

I’m thinking the one I got might be defective.
When on with the brightness turned all the way up I can barely see the colored lights in a dark room. I came back to look at others and the pics and videos are in well lit rooms and you can easily see the colored light.
So I have to assume the one I have isn’t working right. But I can only review what I have. That’s a shame because it has very good flow with its lava wax.

I have been a lava lite/lamp fan since birth, so claiming aficionado status wouldn’t be too far off base. I consistently begged my parents each and every Christmas and birthday to get me one. I had to wait till I was a teenager before they would give in and finally get me the lamp of my dreams. Sadly, years later my children broke my beloved lamp and I haven’t been able to find a decent one since. Apparently my father had gone all out and bought one of the original ones, because it was perfect in every way. I knew what a quality lamp would be like and I can honestly say that you don’t need to look any further! This is it!
I am in absolute love with it! The clarity of the solution is absolute perfection and the fluid motion and stunning colors of the wax is mesmerizing. It does get just as hot as every other single lava lite/lamp in existence. That’s what makes the wax rise and sink, so a lot of the complaints are not valid in the least. It’s science and there will never be a “cool to the touch” one. It just doesn’t get any better than this one. You have the option to switch colors or just let it cycle through all the colors, with a remote control to boot!
They also give you two different tops that you can switch between. It has the traditional flat top or a pointed one. The glass is thick and heavy and there are no visible marks on the surface or seams in the glass. The wax is kind of a pale purple on the one that I chose, but it picks up other colors nicely, as the LED lights cycle. The Royal purple and blood red coloring are very bright and intense. I couldn’t possibly be any happier with this purchase!

This is a unique one — it’s as much about the colors as the flowing wax. This bulb-free heater takes a very long time to start the wax moving. It’s about twice as long as my traditional Lava lamps with bulbs (I have two of those). I was curious about these color changes and options so I ordered the white wax, figuring that would reflect and display the colors better. I was surprised that the wax always looks white but the water/background color varies. The available color options and settings are almost overwhelming and are worth playing with for sheer entertainment value. I’m one of the few people that prefer a stable and consistent look. Most of my friends like to vary the colors in one way or another. No matter the color of the water shining through, I always see the wax as white. For whatever reason, it doesn’t seem to reflect the changing colors like I expected. So I choose one to match the mood of the day and I’m good with that. I do appreciate the newness of this type of Lava lamp and it’s awesome having options to change the look, but the crazy length of time to start the action is a big downside to me. I turn on three Lava lamps at the same time and I’m watching the other two for an hour before this one even begins. For me this lamp is perfect as a display piece for a party or event but I find the changing colors distracting so I don’t much make use of the many options. Others love it so thus a mixed preference. It’s absolutely an excellent unique choice for a gift. Oh, it also comes with two different caps for the top piece — one a flat top, the other beveled.

This liquid motion lamp works really well. The liquid is nice and clear. The lava bubbles morph into all kinds of interesting and fascinating shapes when it gets heated up. This lamp actually doesn’t use a lightbulb. It has a heating mechanism that works just as well, and you don’t have worrì y about replacing a bulb all the time. I really like the fact that you can change the color of the LEDs and make the liquid and lava so many different colors. I opted for the clear lava, so that way the change of colors would be more noticeable. The lamp comes with a convenient remote. One other additional safety feature is the lamp automatically shuts down after 8 hours. This is a really entertaining, relaxing, and enjoyable addition to any space. Do recommend.
