Ninja Blast Max Portable Blender, Cordless, 22 Oz

This is a good option when you need something on the go. It does most blend fruits fine so great for smoothies but struggle with fibrous vegetables.
For over 15 years we have only used one Blentec in our kitchen and nothing else, so I may be biased here. Ninja Blast max is very compact and portable. It does have some weight, which is good thing tells you the build quality and the battery capacity is good. The jar can be detached and used as is, great for portable use where you don’t want the mess of transfer etc. The gears, locking mechanism and safety is quite good and certainly calm my anxiety of having a blender that you can’t physically disconnect from its power source. Kudos to Ninja for having a two step power and run setup.
My only issue with this blender is that its not very fast and thus the final blended product is not very smooth. But as I said I may be biased and comparing it with Blentec is not fair. Though the difference is very significant, I will not use it unless I have to. Having seen the improvements in battery power tools, I was expecting something better. Its in right direction and may be will get there.
Overall, Its a nice choice to have for a portable blender and this is one of the better one but you can’t compare it with a good home blender.

Now I know this blender is technically a portable blender that is battery operated, but in my used case, I rarely find myself needing to bring a blender to the gym to blend a protein shake after a workout. Plus, I would have to store all of my fresh fruit somewhere while I’m exercising in order to bring it out afterwards and make my smoothie. Instead, I consider this blender to be a very small easy to store blender for my home.

I was surprised at how small the blender was when I took it out of the package. The entire thing stands a little over a foot tall with the blending mechanism attached to the bottom. This blender is easy to store anywhere in my kitchen. There are no frills or fancy attachments on this blender. It is used for one thing, making smoothie drinks. The max quantity is 16 ounces or 500 mL. There are little recipes that come with the blender, but honestly, I just use this as I would any other blender to make a single serve smoothie.

It took a couple of hours to fully charge after removing it from the package. The charger is a proprietary cable which is a bit disappointing as I wish it had the more universal USB-C connector. Make sure you do not lose this charging cable. I am not sure how long the blender lasts, but I’ve never had an issue after a charge blending my smoothie. You want to follow the fill order otherwise you might end up with air pockets on the bottom to prevent it from blending. But that is the same with any blender. There are three options of blending; crush, blend, and smoothie.

One of my favorite things about this blender is the fact that it is so easy to clean. I have used larger blenders before that usually need to be hand cleaned. The blender cup and lid are both dishwasher safe, which makes it so easy to wash after use. If you do want to make multiple smoothies in a row, or don’t have a dishwasher, the best trick to quickly clean this blender is to add some warm soapy water and blend it for 10 seconds. Most if not all of the debris will wash out and can just be rinsed under the sink to finish the job.

The Ninja Blast Max will not replace other high-end blenders, but it does a really good job for quick single serving blends, and the portability makes it much more convenient. Whether you are someone who wants to take this to the gym to make a smoothie after a workout, or maybe take a small blender on vacation with you, the Ninja Blender Blast Max is great.
