Offacy Stainless Steel Electric Kettle, 1.5L

Bought this because I wanted a kettle without any plastic in contact with water. The kettle suited the purpose, but wasn’t particularly enjoyable to use and broke twice.

Surprisingly light with high center of mass which makes pouring often annoying which could have been solved if it was just a bit heavier. The flip-open lid is pretty flimsy and will rattle open and shut while boiling instead of staying firmly in place. The handle is unnecessarily high which means to pour steadily you have to hold by the base of the handle which is not at all comfortable or stable. The stainless steel seems actually stainless, but the heating element is very strong and close to bottom so it will “burn in” some discoloration, even after being very careful to boil while well above the minimum fill line.

The final issue I had proved itself twice — the circuit connection becomes unreliable and then wont connect at all. It begins by putting the kettle on the base to boil, flipping the switch but the switch’s power indicator light won’t turn on. If the kettle is slowly spun around the base you can notice a few places where the light will stay lit and you can get a boil, but that only lasts for a few weeks before the connection goes from unreliable to non-existent. I’ve tried cleaning the contacts on the base’s connector and the socket on the kettle’s underside but there is no visual issue and the metal doesn’t seem deformed. Maybe something in the kettle’s underside has melted near the heating element? I thought maybe it was due to accidentally boiling with too little water to diffuse the amount of heat being put out, but with my second order I was intentionally careful to always boil from at least half capacity and the problem still occurred, and in a quarter of the time.

I’d probably give this kettle 3 stars if it didn’t break.

I’d suggest to keep looking if you want a kettle with an all-metal interior. I no longer trust this product.

Stylish easy to clean heats fast well worth the purchase, I’ve gotten many compliments on it. Only thing that is noticeable apart from it being a statement piece that catches the eye is how loud it is when the water is being boiled.

This works the same as other “hot pots” or cordless kettles. It looks very nice (I have had it for 3 mos.) and use it all day to boil water for tea, coffee, soups, cleaning water since my water heater is on the other side of the house and it takes several gallons to get hot water. This pot is fast but not significantly over other kettles and I need to increase the volume on the radio to hear it over the pot when it is heating.
The inside of the kettle is seamless stainless steel including the spout. The lid is also lined in stainless. It pours well. The lid opens easily and reliably and can be pushed open to 90 degrees. I like it.

It’s good, the lid is a little bit stiff but it’s solid ! 5 stars ! Heat up only take a couple minutes !

My son and I use an electric kettle multiple times a day, and our last one finally died and I had to purchase a replacement. I was out of town and I had looked at them and decided to have him research and pick it out as he uses it more than I do. This one is not my aesthetic at all, doesn’t go with our kitchen, and was on the expensive side, but he said it was the only one that had a 2 prong plug (the outlet this would go in only has a 2 prong outlet), so I made the purchase and had it delivered the same day (fabulous that I had that option!)

He told me it was great. He loves it and has no problem with it. It boils water quickly, it has a pretty large capacity, its design doesn’t bother him.

I have a few issues with it, all of these are adaptable, and don’t happen with my son, so they might not happen with you. Due to the design of the lid, there is a tiny gap between the lid and base where hot steam can escape when you are pouring the boiling water. If you hold your hand the way I do, this will shoot a tiny bit of hot steam at your thumb. I am already learning not to pick it up that way. I also just don’t like the way the whole thing is designed, the lid and how you fill it is awkward, it’s a bit brutalist and modern in design, etc. However, I would NEVER have purchased this one on my own in a million years, so take that part of my review with a grain of salt. 😉

My son, who picked this one out, loves it. he has zero problems with it, uses it multiple times a day and is very satisfied.

If I had actually purchased this myself, I would have returned it just based on the lid design.
